A Birthday Message to Beth from George July 17, 2010 In early 1958 I went to choir practice in Oak Ridge, TN. There was a vivacious, outgoing girl there named Beth Sanderson. Then I went to Oak Ridge Oratorio Society rehearsal and who was there but this same delightful young lady. The bug had bitten, George was smitten. The rest is history. Lucky George has spent over 52 of those years knowing this lady from Oak Ridge, and over 51 years of marriage, 6 children, and thirteen grandchildren later he remains smitten. Happy 70th birthday to the love of my life!

Mom, You, Mary Elizabeth Sanderson Deaton, are an angel in human form! And God brought you to Dad, another angel in human form to bless this world with his likeness and example! Your whole life has been dedicated to Dad and us, your six children, as well as your church, charities, love of the arts, and your friends. You have led by example and instilled in all of us what's truly cherished in this life. You are a great mom, always having been there for each of us in so many different ways when we needed you most. I want to say that without your love, understanding and support, I do not know if I could have made it through the darkest times in my life. I love you so very much and I appreciate more than you know, everything you have done for me and my children. I know that I speak for all of us, your kids, that you have been the best mother a person could ever have. How lucky we all are to have you and Dad for parents. I want to take this moment to pray for many more happy, healthy years for you and Dad together. I also want to say a big thank you for everything you and Dad have given to each of us. We could never even come close to repaying you, well, maybe if we won a lottery!! Happy, happy, healthy 70th birthday Mom!!! I love you, your oldest daughter, Elizabeth Ann. PS - The most fun I almost ever had in my life was the cruise to Mexico!!!!! PSS - I miss Nanny Sanderson!!
Mom I appreciate the many prayers you've whispered during the worst moments in my life, and the many hopes for my success in all that I dreamed of. I appreciate the kind wishes that would make me so happy and fulfilled, and the gentle words of encouragement that were meant to strengthen my quests. I appreciate the moments of sorrow you experienced during my failures, and the little gestures of kindness that always made me feel better. I appreciate your acceptance, your ability to understand, and the sincere friendship that always gave me such security. I appreciate the wisdom of all the lessons you taught, and the meaning behind the words "unconditional love."
I appreciate all you've done -- every word and every gesture. I know that you've been the best there is -- a mother beyond all compare. For all you've done . . . thank you, Mom. For all that you are . . . I Love You. Love, Allen | Allen

Mom, Thanks for a great meal (x one million). Throughout my life we have disagreed on a lot of things, especially politically, and you have accepted me for me. That is how I see you with everyone and everything. No matter who or what we brought home, a turtle from the pond to some guy off the street, you always took care of them and gave them a good meal. You are the most compassionate and caring person I know and you have made me a better person by your example. HAPPY 70TH BIRTHDAY MOM!!!!!!! I love you, Paul
