1: Through the eyes of soldier ... Written By : John Smith Dear Jane, I have missed you so much through these last couple of months. The battles are long and hard. There is so much bloodshed I can barely stomach it. The hardships of fighting against our own brothers is taking a toll on me. I cant bare to see another person dead .....

2: Abraham Lincoln is elected as president!

3: Emancipation proclamation | This proclamation was addressed by president Lincoln and freed slaves in all states.

4: It is now official - the confederacy is now considering itself under its own rule. Jefferson Davis is their president. Though President Lincoln is not happy with this those southern states are not caring. | SECESSION

5: First battle of Bull Run | Was supposed to be the shortest battle and supposed to have ended the new war all together but after 10 hours of fighting and 900 soldiers dead, the union troops retreated.

6: Reports from a local battlefield in Gettysburg states that things are looking up for the Northerners. Southerners seem to be retreating and Northerners have won.

7: Battle of Gettysburg | On July 3rd, 1861, this battle was a turning point in the war. General Lee fought against General Mead and Mead lost 70 percent of his men but 4,000 confederate soldiers were captured.

8: Gettysburg Address November 19, 1863 President Abraham Lincoln delivers his address to our country stating to keep fighting along and that one day when this war is over every single person, including slaves, will be free.
