1: Council: Collaborative Multicultural Council (CMC) Founded: May 17, 1999 Symbol: Butterfly Colors: Baby blue & silver Flower: Daisy Motto: "Self, Sisterhood, Service" | Our History | Omega Zeta Chi was founded on May 17, 1999 at the University of California, Riverside by ten women who respectfully resigned their chapter of Delta Psi of Kappa Alpha Theta. As the Alpha Chapter, we just celebrated our 10-year anniversary last year. OZChi has welcomed many wonderful classes up to our Alpha Eta pledge class (Winter 2011). Our sorority prides itself on volunteering for community service, specifically focusing on women and children. We are the first of its kind on UCR’s campus. Omega Zeta Chi is built on the ideals of personal growth, unconditional sisterhood, and service to our community. OZChi prides itself in having women from diverse backgrounds, different majors, and different walks of life. Our diversity distinguishes us from other organizations as well as provides for new learning experiences from one another. Many of our members participate in other campus activities, such as Associated Students of UCR (ASUCR) and Bear Facts Orientation (BFO). OZChi is centered around community service. A majority of our services are located in the Riverside/Inland Empire area, but we do occasionally participate in services in the L.A. area. On occasion, we collaborate with other organizations on campus. We pride ourselves in being able to make a difference in the lives of women and children in the services that we do. has been acknowledged for our service excellence with awards like "2nd Highest GPA Among Fraternities and Sororities," “Volunteer Group of the Year” by Keep Riverside Clean and Beautiful, The Marguleas Sorority/Fraternity Community Service Award, and Certificate of Appreciation for valuable services and contributions to the city of Riverside.
