BC: Until Our Next Family Adventure!

FC: Our Adventure on Hawaii | September 2013

First mission on arrival- find more Donkey Balls! Sean had located a company that sells them on the East side of Oahu so we went over to the "Fine Ass" store and loaded up! While there mom got a photo op with their inflated mascot | After our over 6 hour flight the Alaska Airlines 737 gets ready to land at Honolulu International on Oahu. We got there about 11:30 in the morning. We left Seattle at 9:11 am on Friday the 13th!

We shared the adventure of the local transit system with Stacy, Tad, Sean and Brandy taking an evening ride to Waikiki. We all walked along the beach near sunset and that was also the dinner with the bad duck for Sean at Roy's

We also toured where Sean worked and saw some of his "toys"

On Monday we all met with Sandy and Justine at the airport when they arrived, we then became Justine's entourage for the week. We all flew to Kauai for 6 days and stayed at the rental house at the Steelgrass Farm- a working chocolate producing farm!

We spent the days on Kauai touring the Island, seeing the sites, going to 'Baby Beach'-twice!, a Farmer's Market, a Coffee Plantation, a Rum plant, we took a kayak trip and we saw a Hula show, even if they were kids! Sean and Brandy took a helicopter tour too! | Sandy trying a coffee sample for the 'discriminating taste'. Sandy, Justine and Dad on the tour at the coffee plantation. Mom picked some of the sweet berries at the coffee plantation and was saying "try these"

Don't think: Look! -Ludwig Wittgenstein | Top, the entrance to the Kauai Coffee Plantation and factory. Sean had already "wet his whistle" with the free sample at the Rum factory and while we waited for Sandy and Brandy, Justine kept practicing standing up on her way to walking with the pole at the table. Mom and Sean ready to grab her if she falls

There is something of the marvelous in all things of nature. -Aristotle

Thanks to Sandy; Dad, Sean and Brandy with Sandy, got to try out a half day kayak trip to a not so "Secret waterfall" that was a little weak in the waterfall department. Sean and Brandy were a fast canoe team, Sandy and dad fought about who was steering the canoe going in and then who was powering the canoe coming back. Overall though I think it was a way better experience than several of us were expecting! | The Kayak Master!

While we can say it was a family reunion trip, it was really all about Justine, Justine, Justine!

Almost every morning we had a sunrise like this one from the deck.

Mom and Dad were on Hawaii from Friday September 13th, 2013 to Friday September 27th. Sandy and Justine arrived and we all went to Kauai on Monday September 16th to Sunday the 22nd. Then they went home on the 23rd. And Sean and Brandy? Well they lived on Oahu at that time! It was a great trip, a great time (even with the heat and humidity!) and we're thinking about what to do next time and which Island to see next!

Justine in ventriloquist mode with Grandma Stacy

Steelgrass Farm And just what IS Steelgrass? That's what Bamboo is called!

After we got back to Oahu and Sandy and Justine were back home in San Jose, Mom, Dad, Sean and Brandy still explored and had a Buffet and a show at the Polynesian Cultural Center. | Kauai photos on left and above with Oahu photos from the P.C.C. on right

Taken near the Northern most point on Kauai, this bay was just one of many beautiful places we saw on both Islands.
