BC: It's the little things that make life beautiful.
FC: DAN DAN DAN. Once upon a time...there was a spray called "pesticide." | By: Chelsia Tong
Pesticide is a type of deadly spray that kills bugs which kills grass. It also repels bugs. | As you spray the pesticide onto the insects, the insects start to get mad and start wiggling. The insects will do anything to get the pesticide off them because they know that its going to kill them.
If you spray the tree with pesticide, the caterpillar won't go to that tree anymore. If you literally spray the caterpillar with pesticide, the caterpillar will die. | Lets say you have a tree and your growing big juicy apples on that tree. But suddenly you see a few holes in a leaf. Then you start to look around. You see many other holes in other leaves. You realize that caterpillars have been eating the leaves and you want them to go away. Pesticide is the answer!
Pesticide can be very dangerous if it gets in contact with your nose, mouth, skin or eyes. You can feel the effect immediately. | The way pesticide should be disposed is by using all the pesticide in it first. Then, you check on the bottle where it should be disposed.
Some long term effects on the environment is that pesticide kills plants, it destroys habitats, and it could even ruin the food chain. | Some short term effects on the environment is that pesticide can kill things that shouldn't be killed. For example, fish, frogs, snails, honeybees, etc.
Pesticide spray can effect different habitats for example, bird habitats. Pesticide can also threaten endangered species.
Real life example: Lets say you were walking along on the sidewalk. As you come to your home, you see a family of ants. About 10000 of them in a big fat group. The ant family really bothers you so you use pesticide. A spray that gets rid of pests. As you spray the ants with pesticide, they start to panic and quickly crawl home. But the thing is, pesticide spreads through the air so when the ants reaches their home under the sidewalk, the ants that didn't get sprayed now also has that pesticide chemical because the one ant spread the pesticide to all the other ants. After a while, all the ants will die.
Fun facts: Pesticide can cause cancer or it can cause some health affects if it makes contact with your skin, eyes, mouth, or nose. | Fun facts: There are many things that pesticide can kill. Including mosquitoes, bees, ants, wasps, fleas, etc. | Pesticide is a substance or a mixture created to kill pests.
The way pesticide works is when you spray an insect with pesticide and wait about 5 seconds, the insect usually stops moving showing that it has died. | Pesticide can harm animals, damage ecosystems, extinct many types of species, disrupt ecosystems, and it can even mess up food chains! | It is even possible to ruin a humans body when the pesticide makes contact with the body.
Pesticide can ruin the environment and ecosystems because when pesticide is sprayed on something, the wind picks up some of the spray of pesticide and the wind blows the pesticide into different places that may affect the environment or ecosystems.
