 1. Availably Some towns or cities do not have recycling programs. For the people who want to recycle in those cities, they can't. To start a recycling program in your city, you should contact the local chamber of commerce to see what you can do about it. Recycling should be available to everyone.
 2. What can be recycled? Glass Bottles Milk Cartons Paper Aluminum drinking cans Steel food cans Plastics Plastic bags | To solve this, make a list of everything you can recycle. The list above are only a few.
 3. Plastic bags Some recycling companies do not accept plastic bags to be recycled through them. These bags will clog up the sorters and require a human to fix the machines. When recycling, you should not keep the things you are recycling in plastic bags. Rather, you should use a bin. | To solve this, there are usually local grocery stores that will accept plastic bags so you should drop those off there. Another thing to consider is to stop using plastic bags and use a more sturdy, reusable bag to bring to the store with you each time you go.
 4. Poor sorting Many places that participate in recycling will have bins that are labeled with what should be dropped into that bin. They will have specific names like glass bottles, soda cans, plastic bats etc. When you place items in the wrong bins, it makes it hard to the companies to do their jobs and it takes longer. To solve this problem, really pay attention to the item you are recycling. Take the few extra seconds to read the bin label.
 5. Not everyone recycles | Most people do not find the time to recycle their waste or else they do not want to. They may also not be informed as to why they should recycle. To solve this problem, people should spread the word. Schools and organizations could inform people on the importance of recycling.
