FC: "You are more perfect than I could have hoped, more beautiful than I could have dreamed, more precious than I could have imagined. I love you more than I would have known." | Rylan Emma Messinger

 Rylan Emma Messinger October 31, 2010 11:53 AM 7 lbs. 7 oz. 18 1/2 inches

It was noon on Halloween 2010 And our baby girl was here. When our parents got to meet her They each let out a tear.

Some of our family came to visit We laughed and talked for hours. Our lil' pumpkin loved the company And even got a vase of flowers.

NOVEMBER | We brought her home early that month Where she slept and ate and cried. Getting used to an infant was hard On our family and friends we relied.

COLTS? | EAGLES? | The big game was her first fun event. Which team did she think would win? Even with Lauryn on opposite sides A friendship was about to begin.

As the month went on we did our best With baths and naps and food. She had a good time on turkey day And the tape didn't ruin her mood.

DECEMBER | In December she stayed awake more To focus on many new things. Aunt Kim showed us her brand new skill Tracking a toy as it swings.

 Christmas 2010

Christmas was celebrated with family Giving gifts to one and all. Rylan got some clothes and toys Her pile was certainly not small.

JANUARY | By the time she was two months old Rylan found that she had hands. Becoming more of a little person She had less and less demands. | HAPPY NEW YEAR!

By the time we got to February She had finally learned to smile. We began to go meet other kids Who we'll hopefully know for awhile.

When surgery came she was very brave Though we could feel her pain. She ran a fever the first few days And used her sad cry to complain.

As the days after surgery slowly passed We realized that things were not right. The lip was not holding together Since the stitches were no longer tight.

While her lip slowly began to heal Rylan learned several new tricks. She could now roll over both ways And eat a cereal puree mix.

April was our busiest month With lots of family things to do. We had the pool the park and the game Plus Easter with an egg hunt too!

 MAY

By the beginning of this sunny month Rylan could finally sit on her own. We met her cousin for a day at the park So we didn't have to stay home alone.

JUNE | June brought warm weather and sun Which meant some fun things to do. We swam in the pool, went to the park And Rylan learned to play peek-a-boo!

Our family trip was spent at the beach Where Rylan first saw the sand. She loved sitting next to the ocean And touching the waves with her hand.

After having a lot of fun in the sun It was back to the hospital we went. Rylan handled this surgery great It was a much less traumatic event.

 JULY

As the summer days continued Her interest in toys quickly grew. Now she could even stand on her feet Which meant new things she got into.

August ended with a trip to the zoo Where Rylan saw animals galore. A little young to really understand She liked watching the people more.

Some big changes came this month Like Rylan getting used to her school. We also had her first swim lesson So she could spend time in the pool.

OCTOBER | Less than a month before her birthday And she was starting to learn to walk. October brought Halloween and snow, Plus she was actually beginning to talk!

With snow on the ground and the power out Rylan's party was an interesting event. But with family and friends there by her side Into toddlerhood she happily went.
