"Life is about dreams...Teaching is about making them come true" -Anonymous
2 weeks old | I was born on May 30, 1991 to a father who was a lawyer and a mother who was a teacher.
Fort Worth, TX. | Playing outside provided me opportunities to grow and learn through real life situations
I have been a part of a team since I was a little girl. From a young age I was learning how to work with others and how to find solutions to problems. | sunny days
Even in college, I am still learning and growing each day. | SU 2012
I am part of a huge family. This has taught me how to work with others to reach a goal and to communicate effectively. | sunny days
My family has shown me that everyone can be actively involved, even with a lot of people. | The Clarks
First day of 1st Grade! I could not wait to get to school!
Even if I was nervous, my brother was there for me.
I have always loved going to school. I would play teacher whenever I got the chance. Even as a little girl I knew I was going to grow up to be a teacher.
Reading "Where the Wild Things Are" to a kinder class
I have been a member of Kappa Delta Pi, the Education Honor Society since 2010. I was the Membership Chair from 2011-2012. This has been a wonderful opportunity to learn about the society and connect with the education community.
I have been certified in the Project Wild Program. This program has helped to show me how important and pertinent it is to learn about the natural life all around us. This is a resource that I will incorporate into my own classroom so that my students have the opportunity to actively engage in the natural environment.
Teaching is something I have wanted to do for as long as I can remember. My family, soccer, and school have helped to shape the teacher I want to be. I hope to create a class where every child feels safe, where every child wants to learn, and where every child enjoys school.
