Slave Trade - Page Text Content

FC: The Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade started when the Europeans needed a work force.

1: The Slave Trade took a toll on Africa. The Africans who were taken captive lost their homes and family. Millions of people were taken. Many people died during transport.

2: When taken into slavery these African people had to do anything they were told. If they didnt the people who owned them would beat them and make them do it.

3: The traders would take their slaves and auction them off. Not a care in the world about splitting up families.

4: When the slave raiders took all the young men it took away their farmers. This takes a bad turn with no food for the people.

5: Many of the Africans were traded away for firearms. During the time they were dispersed their religion and beliefs slowly lost them.

6: The slave trade finally came to an end from Abolition. This is what showed everyone how bad it truly was. They proceeded to outlaw the slave trade.

7: All of the images shown from www.google.com/images The information came from Prentice Hall World Cultures A Global Mosaic.
