S: Sofi's Story
FC: Sofi's Story
Sofi, your story begins at Women's Hospital in Baton Rouge, La. on Sept 9, 1993 at about 8:12 am. Like most first born you had your own schedule and your own way of doing things. You arrived 2 weeks late but when you finally made your debut-we were thrilled! You loved eating and sleeping immediately! Within 3 weeks you were sleeping through the night and your dad loved to bathe and give you your last bottle of the night. My favorite time believe it or not was the quiet time we had at 2am feedings.
Your first year of course was filled with the typical firsts-first Halloween, Christmas and first smiles! You had the greatest smile ever! We loved to tickle your chin to make you laugh and smile!
Once you began walking you and your dad would walk up and down our street every evening-and you have been moving ever since!
How you loved to spread your arms and fly! | Your first birthday was filled with family and friends-your Aunt Carrie was there to help you blow out your candles!
It was just you and your dad for several months after your 2nd Birthday. I moved to Nashville in September and you guys joined me in December.
You quickly adjusted and loved to take a bath in the big tub! | You and dad planting flowers
The March after we moved to Nashville you welcomed your brother PJ-you were such a good Big Sis after you realized he would not be going back to the hospital! | This was my favorite photo of us! You loved to smile laugh and hug-such a happy girl!
 3rd Birthday!
You had a trunk full of dress up clothes and would spend hours playing dress up! During your fifth year we added a new little brother to our family-you were so excited to have little Alex to play with. You would help me by feeding and holding him.
We as a family would go to Crockett Park on nice weekends which was where you learned to ride your bike!
You made lots of friends in school and loved sleep overs! Many times we would have up to 16 girls at a time up in our bonus room! This was the one that began it all-your 6th Birthday!
AWESOME SUMMER! | We had many good times that year from Christmas at Grandmommy's to hanging at the YMCA with your cousins and friends!
You were active in everything! On your own without knowing anyone, you joined Softball and played several summers. You also loved Brownies with all the meetings, cookies and outings!
Sofi, you were the model student and child. You excelled in school and your life revolved around friends, sports and family.
 My little Basket Ball Star!
Sofi's Middle School Years | You were very independent! I never had to beg you to complete your work-you just did it! My favorite project of yours was this science project.
Many summers were spent with Aunt Carrie and your Cousins-you loved all the activities and trips!
Colorado Trip | You and Ruth Ann became sisters during these trips. Aunt Carrie and Uncle Glenn considered you one of their kids. You brought fun and excitement to their laid back family.
Many Thanksgivings were trips with your cousins, dad and your brothers! | Having fun hiking!
 Camp Marymount
When not with your cousins, you spent time at Camp Marymount for several summers. I remember you coming home that first time after 2 weeks filled with bug bites but happy!
Your time at St Edwards was one of tradition filled with good times and lots of friends!! Every weekend you wanted to go to friends houses, or have friends over to spend the night! Facebook and digital cameras brought on a whole new way to stay connected.
JR High | I was so happy to have you stay at one school all the way to the 8th Grade.
 Washington DC Trip
Beach Weeks 1998-2010 Emerald Isle NC
“I honestly think the beach is the only place children actually entertain themselves.” | S
The many faces and bathing suits of Sofi | Cool Shades
"At the beach life is different. Time doesn't move hour to hour but mood to moment. We live by the currents, plan by the tides and follow the sun."
“The beach is in our blood. Everyone in our family returns to the beach instinctively, just like the sea turtles.”
Sofi you have been the best big sister a brother can have. You have been my role model, the person that I go to for advice, and also a great friend. I have seen you grow up over the years and have been amazed to see you mature into an adult. You have been a very important person in my life and it makes me very sad that I will not be able to see you every day when you leave, but I know that whatever you do, you will succeed in. As you go off to college I want you to know that I will always be with you, always love you, and always miss you. Love, PJ Jarquin
Sofi, you are my best, nicest and only big sis-I love you and will always remember the fun we had! I will miss you and never stop thinking about you-hug, hug, kiss, kiss! Love, Alex
Sofi, your high school years were really when you grew into your on! Extremely loyal, independent along with knowing what you wanted and going after it was your style. When you wanted to learn to drive, every night you would finish your homework and immediately ask your dad to take you out to drive. You received your license on your 16th birthday. Watching your story unfold in high school was a lot like watching you grow in your first year-there were a lot of firsts-but this time you were more on your own, making your own decisions and building a life with friends that will take you past your senior year. I am so proud of you and the young adult you are growing into! It was such fun to see you come and go, letting me know your plans of football games, parties, dances, lacrosse games and work. As parents we are now more in the background cheering you on, waiting to hear all the fun you've had, hopefully being there when you need us-always just a phone call or text away!

Being the first and only girl has not always been easy. I have not always been physically there at every moment and that must have been tough at times. But you also must know how much your dad and I love you with all our heart-you have brought such joy and happiness into our lives! So as you go out in the world and face the great times and the challenging times-know that we will always be here eager to hear, to laugh, to cry and to continue to be a part of your Story
