3: DAY 1 Museo del Jamon Our first meal of the trip was at the ham museum! We enjoyed some delicious jamon iberico & beer | MADRID

6: Exploring Madrid
7: We explored the Royal Palace of Madrid- the official residence of the Spanish Royal family, and also walked around the streets outside the palace, watching the quirky street side performers.
8: After a stroll around the Palace of Madrid, we ended the day with dinner at this popular indoor market. Some of our favorite dishes included the razor blams, burrata cheese, and olive & sardines.

14: TOLEDO | sits majestically above the the Tagus River | Toledo is famous for its medievil sword making and is known as the "City of the Three
15: and serves as the capital of the Spanish province of Castilla–La Mancha | Cultures", having been influenced by a co-existence of Christians, Muslims and Jews.
17: Lunch | with | Chef | A | l | d | o | f | o | After strolling around the historic city of Toledo in Castile-La Mancha, we wandered upon a well known restaurant, called Adolfo, opened by a famous chef, Adolfo Munoz. After a delicious meal of suckling pig, duck liver, partridge, ceviche, and mazapan, we were greeted by Mr. Adolfo himself! Shortly after our meal however, we suffered from intense food poisoning! And thus began 24 hours of horrible vomitting to end our journey in Madrid.

25: BARCELONA | tapas | Las Ramblas street was full of delicious restaurants, but our favorite tapas eatery was Los Torerors. We tried some of the Catalonian paella famous in Barcelona, and loved th razor clams, calamari, and patatas bravas at this restaurant. Another one of favorites was Quimet & Quimet which had yummy small plates like the salmon yoghurt honey truffle and shrimp with cream cheese and caviar.
26: Santa Maria de Montserrat Abbey
27: We spent our last day at the Santa Maria de Montserrat Abbey in the hills. We traveled by cable car up the mountains of Catalonia and spent the afternoon visiting the basilica, and also enjoyed the beautiful views of the monastery. We also did a short hike up the hills to get a better view of the rock formations!
