Harry Potter was a significant part of my life for the past ten years. When I had no one to rely on and I felt the whole world was against me, J.K.Rowling allowed me into her world and accepted me for who I was. I grew with the characters and saw a little piece of myself if each of them. I chose to get my Harry Potter tattoo as an every day reminder of what these books did for me and how I would be a completely different person without them. -Blake McNeill
Oh, you may not think I'm pretty, But don't judge on what you see, I'll eat myself if you can find A smarter hat than me. You can keep your bowlers black, Your top hats sleek and tall, For I'm the Hogwarts Sorting Hat And I can top them all. There's nothing hidden in your head The Sorting Hat can't see, So try me on and I will tell you Where you ought to be. You might belong in Gryffindor, Where dwell the brave at heart, Their daring, nerve and chivalry Set Gryffindors apart; You might belong in Hufflepuff, Where they are just and loyal, Those patient Hufflepuffs are true And unafraid of toil; Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw, If you've a steady mind, Where those of wit and learning, Will always find their kind; Or perhaps in Slytherin You'll make your real friends, Those cunning folk use any means To achieve their ends. So put me on! Don't be afraid! And don't get in a flap! You're in safe hands (though I have none) For I'm a Thinking Cap!
In the Harry Potter Series, the houses become homes to the students. Each person in the house becomes like a brother or sister. A strong feeling of acceptance is created and personalities begin to develop. The houses act as a students home away from home, where each person is free to express themselves how they choose, without judgment or consequences.
The Hogwarts houses are symbolic of finding yourself in the world. While reading the books it is hard not to place yourself into one of the houses and feel as though the students are your family. Finding a place in the world gives a sense of belonging and acceptance that most people strive for in their life. Through the books each person is given that feeling of happiness and acceptance. Tattoos showing the house crests are a symbolic representation of finally feeling recognized in society.
Each person who has read the Harry Potter series has had the opportunity to "meet" a character who is just like themselves. J.K. Rowling created so many different dynamics in her characters that it is nearly impossible to be unable to relate to one. The character one tattoos on their body shows a part of themselves they found in the novels. Through the characters they can help the world understand them as a person.
Harry Potter is the strongest character in the seres, as well as the most commonly tattooed character. Harry Potter is a symbol of strength and living proof that anything is possible. Harry Potter proves to the common man that with the right amount of effort and hard work, they | can accomplish anything they set their minds to. Having the character Harry Potter tattooed on a person is a symbol that the person believes they can do anything and plan to reach for their dreams and achieve their goals in life.
Harry Potter has many aspects and symbols that pertain to peoples every day life. Although the symbols meanings can differ depending on the person, the main remains the same. Tattoos are commonly a symbol of strength, that the person feels so strongly about something that they choose to get it permanently marked onto their body. In each case the person gets the tattoo to show others how they feel about themselves or the topic at hand. Tattoos are a great way to express personal accomplishments or desires.
The glasses symbolize seeing the good in all people as well as seeing the strength inside of yourself through all situations. | The scar symbolizes that although it may leave a mark and cause pain for a while, love truly does conquer all.
The golden snitch is symbolic | of a personal secret | kept deep inside thyself | until the right person is able to unlock it
The Deathly Hallows symbol has become a common masterpiece in the tattoo world. This symbol is a sign of power, life, and death. The stone describes those lost in life, but waiting in death. The cloak describes living life without fear of death. The wand describes living life with all the strength the world offers.
Always. This is potentially the strongest line in the last Harry Potter Book. This one line causes an emotional explosion and touches the hearts of anyone who reads the book. This tattoo describes a never ending love that continues even in death. The person who gets this tattoo is in true love and wants to show the world.
Spells, charms, and potions are a major part of the Harry Potter experience. Wizards are only as strong as the spells they cast, the potions they brew, and the charms they possess. In order to be a true "wizard" the spells must be perfected and what better way to do so then to have them inked on oneself for all to see.
Spell tattoos are empowering. The choice of spell expresses what the person is trying to portray in their lives. Each spell is useful to show how the person may feel about their day to day lives or struggles. Spell tattoos are also a great way to show the world what spells you would use in the wizarding world. The type of spell a wizard uses can tell quite a bit about the person they are inside.
