S: Boardman Family Fall 2010 - Fall 2011
This picture is chronologically out of order. It's actually the first day of school for 2011. Taylor started 4th grade, Blake, 2nd grade, and Carson, Kindergarten. Alex and Mom get to bond all morning!
For Blake's 7th birthday we took two friends, Christian and James to Kangaroo Zoo. Alex and K-pa celebrated together at home.
Mom made these beautiful pieced stockings! It was a lot of work, but I think they turned out pretty nice! We had a great Christmas. Taylor got a snowboard, Blake a ninja costume, Carson a pillow pet, and Alex a new bike.
On January 18, 2011 Casey swore the oath of enlistment to the Army national guard administered by retired General "Jo" Jordan. Casey spent 8 weeks at Combat Medic training in Texas to return as a medic for the 65th Fires Brigade at Camp Williams. As Distinguished Honor Graduate for the EMT phase of training and an Honor Graduate for the overall course, Casey felt certain he was where he needed to be. He opted enlist rather than recommission in order to receive the training only offered to enlisted soldiers. PA school, Special Forces medic training, and a host of other military opportunities have now opened for him. We as a family miss Virginia and the Marine Corps but are excited for the future.
Sledding after X-mas to try out Taylor's new snowboardWe all had fun!
For Taylor's 9th birthday he chose to go to the Winter Dew Tour. We had a perfect beautiful day at Snow Basin. We had a picnic outside rode the ski lift and even got sunburns. The highlights: getting free stuff at all the booths and for Taylor meeting a ski pro Simon Dumont.
While Casey was at combat medic school, mom ran the SL marathon. Dad's whole unit knew about it, so the pressure was on to do well. She ran it in 3:52, a new PR. It was a perfect race day! Also above: Blake and Taylor, best buddies
Carson's Preschool Graduation Ms. Char was a perfect match for Carson. He loved school and learned so much. By the time he finished he could have easily started first grade. He is a very smart boy! Above is Isabella the sweet little girl who swears she is going to marry him. There were a couple of girls heart-broken because Isabella was the lucky one who "got him".
June, right after school got out, we took off for a family vacation to northern California. Kathy and JD, our best friends, were again kind enough to have us stay with them. The boys are at the age where they were dying to go to an amusement park. We found the Santa Cruz boardwalk -turned out to be perfect for our family. There were no lines, and the rides were big enough for maximum pleasure. The boys were so grateful for the fun day, which makes a family event even better. We also did tinfoil dinners on the beach, hit San Francisco and watched Libby develop a baby crush on Taylor. I think we would be perfectly happy living by the ocean!
I love competition when it comes to brothers. No one could climb the rope until Blake got to the top his 1st try! After that | Taylor was real quick to get up that rope. Blake loves to get cammied up and goes up and down several times daily.
On a beautiful fall day we checked the boys out of school and took them motorcycle riding at the V.
Blake ran the Pioneer Day 5K. We were all so proud!
K-pa treated us to an incredible day up at Snowbird. We had wristbands, so everything was free. We rode the zip-line, the slide many times & enjoyed time with Gracie, Maddie, Gran & K-pa
 Play Time
Another great race for mom! The St. George Marathon 3:43! At mile 26 a man went down, so Casey was off saving his life. Right then mom went running by and everyone missed her. But as you can see she has very supportive fans!
We all love Terri and Wendall! Staying with them is always the highlight of our trip. They are so hospitable, we hope to someday be like them. When Taylor plays his imaginary friends are Wendall and Whitney.
