S: Santiniketan Memories (1997-2011)
BC: SOMPRADEEP was the name coined by my wife, who using the first (or more) alphabet(s) of the name of each one of our family members created this. Amazing, is not it! | "Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but rather the moments that take your breath away"
FC: Santiniketan Memories (1997-2011)
2: The Early Days (1997) - Beginning of Construction. The design of the house was the joint effort of many including (Late) Dr. S.S.Chakraborty, Mrs . Aparna Chakraborty, my wife and myself.
4: A Few Years Later (2000) - Construction almost complete. The house gradually got constructed step by step little by little! Mr. S. K Roy was the contractor, but (Late) Dr. S.S. Chakraborty was the inspiration!
5: The Quintessential Banayan Tree Near the House. However, tne tree has lost its serenity, defeated to human greed! | 1998
6: Prantik Station (near Santiniketan) - "Prantik" lieterally means "The End" in Bengali, but the station is far from being the end station. It is expanding fast to take the horizon away and away and brings people from all across.
7: The expansion continues... | 2010
10: Without Subhash, our SOMPRDEEP shall be reduced to bricks, mortar and cement!
11: To us, family means putting your arms around each other, and being there.

13: The trees in the garden was our dream ; the coconuts were from Bangalore, the Amrapali from Kolkata, the Amlas from Ahmedabad , a local blue berry, two Sapota, and several citrus plants!

16: Baul Singer - The Bauls are an ancient group of wandering minstrels from Bengal, who believe in simplicity in life and love. They are similar to the Buddhists in their belief in a fulfillment which is reached by love's emancipating us from the dominance of self.
