One hot summer day, a boy named Henry was busy playing with his friends. His dog, Leo sat and watched eagerly.

He tried to join in the fun, but non of the boys wanted him there. Even his best friend, Henry, seemed too busy to even notice him.

Leo was so sad. He remembered the days when Henry would spend his whole day with him. He listened to the little bell that was attached to his collar. It was a bell that Henry gave him, but Henry didn't seem to care about Leo anymore or his bell.

One day, Leo decided to leave home. He would run away and find a new boy who had time to play with him.

Later that day, Henry noticed that Leo wasn't around. He looked and looked, he called his name over and over again but Leo didn't come.

Henry knew something was wrong. He was so worried, he decided to make signs that said, "Lost Dog!" He put his name, phone number, and address on the sign hoping someone would find him and bring him home.

So he went all around town posing his signs. He started at the park, hoping to see Leo running around and playing with the other children, but he was not there so he put up a sign and kept going.

He posted a sign at the library.

 one at the grocery story,

 one at the police station

and one at the school. Throughout his journey, no one had seen Leo and Henry was starting to lose hope.

Meanwhile, Leo was sitting alone under a tree when a strong wind blew a piece of paper right into his face. He looked down at the paper and realized that Henry must be looking for him!

Leo was so excited that he started running back towards the house to give Henry a second chance.

Henry went home and sat outside to wait. He felt so bad that he didn't spend more time with Leo. He was upset that he spent more time with his friends rather than playing with Leo. He wished that Leo would come back so he could make it up to him.

Suddenly he heard that sound of a bell off in the distance and it was getting louder and louder. Then Henry realized it was Leo's bell! He stood up and there was Leo racing back to him!

Henry was so happy to see Leo he hugged him tight while Leo licked his face. Henry realized that he needed to appreciate Leo more by spending more time with him and giving him the love he deserves.
