The chickees were very protective. In every chickee, there had to be a fireplace. The reason everyone had a fireplace is to keep them warm. Every Cherokee family had a winter chickee too.

4: The houses had a lot of material to build with. For example, small trees, plaster, sticks, mud, thatched rooves, and palmetto leaves. The walls were made of saplings. Some houses are on stilts to protect their farm. Your summer home would be entirely made out of logs.

Everyone had a chance to become a priest. In May and July they held a green corn dance for Harvest Festival. The dances were named for animals and they used drums and rattlesnakes. They had temple mounds, too. They used herbs for medicines.

9: Southeast Native American men made tools like arrowheads or blowguns to catch their food. They used tools for farming like wooden hoes and rakes. They made their arrowheads out of different kinds of stone and chipped them into the deer antler shape. Most of the smaller pieces from the rock were made into the point of an arrowhead. The southeast men made their blowguns out of hollow cane stems. When they were making the blowgun it would be up to 9 feet long.

10: Southeast men made their tools for two reasons-one for catching food and for war.Southeast men mostly used darts for catching rabbits or blowguns and nets. Nets catch fish and blowguns can catch deer or buffalo. They used hoes and rakes for growing crops like rice or corn. When the men were at war they made their darts out of poison, stone, and wood. They are creative because I know I can't do that for my life!
