 The context of me.....

Since being brought into this world on December 7, 1989, in the college town of Bloomington, IN, I have embarked on a life adventure of discovering myself and the world around me. Through relationships, experiences, and my spirituality I have been shaped into the person I am today.

I have been blessed with the most incredible family! My family exemplifies the type of sacrificial love that many people dream of. We care for one another deeply and would do anything for one another. My parents raised my younger sister and I to love God first and family second. They taught us to both to fear God and love God. The biblical principles that my mother and father taught me at a young age have effected the entire course of my life. The core values instilled in me have had an impact on how I view life and treat others. I am grateful for such role models in my life.

Friends shape your thoughts, feelings and actions. Experiences with friends mold you into the person you are. I have made my closest friends in college. These friends will be my friends forever. These girls have been there for me through thick and thin. They are the reason I have had such an unforgettable college experience. While each of my friends are much different from one another, they each hold a special place in my heart.

sisters | Unlike the stereotypes that surround sorority life, I have found the sisterhood within Phi Mu to be one of encouragement, positive energy, and achievement. Never having imagined myself in a sorority before college, I'm am more grateful now than ever before that on a whim my freshman year I decided to join a sorority. I can't imagine my life without the bonds I have created within this Greek chapter. I have learned how to be a leader, and even more important than that, I' have learned what it takes to be a true sister.

Within the IU Greek system I have found an incredible community of Christian believers. Through house Bible studies, worship nights, and service trips, the fellowship amongst this group has become like nothing I have ever before experienced. Being a part of this group has helped to grow my faith in Christ and learn what true community looks like. | faith

Summer of 2011 changed my life. Bradford Woods has made me appreciate the small things in life. Children, no matter your cognitive age or physical ability, are still children. Children who smile, laugh, play, get on your last nerve, and even sometimes prove you wrong! The children I met through the Bradford Woods summer camps helped me to daily recognize how blessed I truly am. They've inspired me to challenge myself daily and always shine from the inside out. I don't think my campers will ever know how much of a positive impact they each have had on my life.

camp camp camp camp camp camp | Summer of 2010 I flew to Naples, Maine with a sorority sister to embark on our very first experience as counselors at a sleep away camp many miles from home. By the end of the eight weeks, Camp Mataponi proved to be an unforgettable summer of many ice cream cones at Lakeside Dairy, color wars, birthday balls, jamboree, camp songs, traveling to Boston, Portland, hiking in North Conway, challenging days at the ropes course, and most importantly friendships I will cherish for years to come!

serenity | In times when I am free of disturbances I enjoy using the mind I have been given to create something of nothing. I find joy in unleashing my creative energy. Two ways I find peace are when I am either sitting by a tranquil campfire or lost in my thoughts painting.

As an aspiring mom, I love to babysit. I am a nurturing person by nature and love to care for little ones. These kiddos have a special place in my heart. I've watched them grow and am so grateful to be a small part of their lives. They each bring a smile to my face!
