FC: The Food Chain
The Sun's rays travel to Earth where their energy is used in many ways.
Plants use energy from the Sun's rays to produce their own food source.
Primary Consumers are animals that eat only plants. These animals are also called Herbivores.
Secondary Consumers are animals whose diets consist of insects and small animals.
Tertiary Consumers are animals that are at the top of their food chain. | These animals are also called Carnivores.
Organisms that feed off of other organisms are called Decomposers. They help to break down materials of dead plants and animals.
Through this cycle, energy is passed from The Sun to plants through the consumers to decomposers and back to plants.
