In the small town of Octoberville, a family of black cats lived. The family consisted of Momcat, Dadcat, and Alliecat.
The family bought a pet pumpkin in order to guard their house. They named the pumpkin Jack.
Jack was happy to be in the family, and was very cheerful. His biggest job was Halloween night, and he looked forward to it. On Halloween, he would protect the family from ghosts and monsters.
The person who caused the most havoc on Halloween was the ghost the Haunted Hassle. Every year he went into houses and stole things.
The Ghost prepared every day for Halloween. He wanted to make sure that his plan was fool-proof.
This is where the story really begins. It was Halloween night, and the streets were full of trick-or-treaters. Haunted Hassle blended in, making his job much easier.
The ghost stopped in front of a nice house. There was a pumpkin guarding the house. Haunted Hassle loved the pumpkin so much that he decided he would take it home to turn it into a lantern.
The cats came back from trick-or-treating only to find Jack gone. They were very upset, so they began to look for him.
They walked and walked and walked, hoping to find Jack. They asked some of the trick-or-treaters, but no one knew why Jack had suddenly disappeared. There were so many trick-or-treaters though, so Jack could be anywhere.
They walked so far that they left their town. They looked, but they didn't find Jack.
Suddenly, they came across a problem. There was a giant hill in front of them. They were scared to climb it, but knew they must.
Step by step, they slowly climbed the hill. It was difficult, but they kept going no matter what. Finally, they got to the top and slid down to the bottom.
They were happy they made it over, but now they had another problem...a giant river in front of them. They hated to swim, but knew that if they wanted to save Jack they must swim across.
They swam and swam and finally made it across. They were so happy, but they then saw yet another problem to face.
They saw a giant mountain in front of them. It was tall and steep, but that wasn't the weirdest part. The weirdest part was that there was a castle on top of the mountain.
Alliecat looked up and screamed. He had seen Jack on the top of the mountain and was frightened. Momcat and Dadcat heard Alliecat scream only to look up to see Jack being pulled in the castle.
They knew they must save Jack, so they started up the mountain. The whole time they heard Jack screaming, which made them climb even faster.
Soon they were climbing so fast that it was becoming a danger. Suddenly, they all tripped on a large rock. They grabbed onto the mountain as hard as they could, and just barely made it.
They looked up after that, only to find a river of lava running all the way around the castle. There was only one way across...a very small bridge leading into the castle.
They knew Jack was inside and that they must save him. So they carefully crossed the bridge, full of nervousness.
They made it over, and immediately went into the castle. They quietly crept through room after room.
Every room they passed was empty. They got more and more nervous by the second, and worried they were never going to get out. The castle was a maze of room, and in one of the rooms was Jack.
Finally, they passed the room Jack was in. The only problem was that the ghost was in the room too...so they knew they must face Haunted Hassle.
They saw Jack laying on a table, with a knife near his face. Haunted Hassle clearly was trying to turn Jack into a lantern.
They yelled for help, but no one came. The castle was deserted. They didn't know what else to do, so they kept yelling.
Jack heard them screaming and was getting more and more anxious for his future. Finally, he used all of his strength and jumped off the table, surprising Haunted Hassle.
Haunted Hassle was defenseless. The cats confronted him, making the ghost feel bad and realize he was wrong.
Haunted Hassle apologized. He promised to never steal again, and that he would be a better ghost.
The ghosts were satisfied. They decided that they should go home now, because they were very tired. Then they all went home and had a good night's sleep.
The Haunted Hassle wanted to start fresh. He decided he would change his name to Friendly Ghost.
In the end, the cats, ghost, and the pumpkin were happy. And they all lived happily every after.
