2: City Research | I chose Mountain Brook because it seems like a nice place to live in. There is not very much crime that happens there. Mountain Brook has various different types of jobs in the area that you can choose from and lawyers are a large one of choice.Mountain Brook is a city type of area. There are many homes there and plenty of bus stations. There is not very much of a crime rate.The overall general population of Mountain Brook is 20,369. There are 9,722 males and 10,647 females. | Page 1

3: Standard Living | I chose the apartments at 1812 4th Avenue S., Birmingham, Al. The name of the apartment complex is Carriage Court Apartments. I chose this apartment because it is in a good area. There isn't a very large amount of money that you have to pay for rent. Some of the amenities that come along with the apartment reduce in bills. Each month the rent is $772. The security deposit is $75. Some of the features or amenities that come along with the apartment are Internet, Dishwasher, Dryer, Private Balcony, and Satellite TV. | Page 2

4: Standard Living -Continued | The apartment that I chose does not pay for water. The phone lines house and cell phone are $50 dollars for house phone and $40 for cell phone bill. | Page 3

5: Household Items | My three chosen items to be gifted to me from my parents are TV, Bed, and a Dresser. All of the things that i chose for my household items ended with costing a total of $1635.73. There were some things that come with the apartment and they are a washer and a dryer, and a refrigerator. | Page 4

6: Transportation | I chose the Honda Civic Si. It is a new car it has never been used. The cars price on it is $23,000. I chose this car because it is good on gas, it has a average price on it, and it is a good car. I picked the 54 month agreement. It last five years but I would only have to pay $476.52 a month which would leave me with $2,013.17 a month. | Page 5

7: Grocery List | Most of the shopping that I chose to do my shopping at was Wal-Mart. After I chose everything that I was going to buy it ended with a total cost of $208. I mostly chose things that are like healthy breakfast foods and dinner meals. I also learned that some of the things that we expect to cost a lot have actually went up a lot. | Page 6

8: Miscellaneous Items | After all of the deductions from my regular check I have $1114.27 left over. Some of the places that I could use the money at that I have leftover and would like to spend it at would be Apple bee's, Logan's Roadhouse, Red Lobster, American Eagle, Aeropostale, and Rue 21. Where I plan on putting some of the money to have it as back up plans and putting it in places in case of emergencies are my savings, vehicle maintence, home maintence, fast food, hair/salon service or haircut, entertainment, clothing, and shoes | Page 7

9: About the Author | Page 8 | Shae Gowens is a student at Oxford High School. She enjoys watching football, helping key clubs, and spending time with her family. When it comes to writing Shae likes to write about life stories, friends, and family. She finds the most challenging part of writing to be coming up with the beginnings and endings. When she gets older, she hopes to become a lawyer.
