1: Utah was the 45th state admitted into the union in 1896.Utah gets its name from Ute Indian tribe, which means "people of the mountains".
2: With 2,763,885 people it is no wonder why it has more than 4% of the population of the US.More than 80% of Utahn's live along Wasatch Front centering Salt Lake City.
3: The Utah state flag was adopted in 1913. The state seal was adopted in 1896. The bald eagle, the 6 arrows in the eagles talons, Sego lily, "industry", the beehive, the crossed union flags and the date 1847 and 1896 represent great symbolism of the state.
4: Since the beginning of the 19th century mining has played an important part in the Industry motto of the state. The Bingham Canyon Mine is the largest open mine pit in the entire world! During the cold world era, uranium was mined in the eastern part of Utah. Today the minerals mined include copper, gold, silver, molybdenum, zinc, lead, and beryllium. Fossil fuels like coal, petroleum, and natural gas continue to play a major role in the economy especially the eastern part of the state.
5: The California Gull was adopted to Utah in 1955. The honey bee was adopted to Utah in 1983. The rocky mountain elk was adopted in 1971.
6: The Bruce tree was adopted in1933. | The Sego lily was adopted in 1911.
7: "Utah,we love thee " is Utah's state song. This song is very popular in Utah because with 2,763,885 all of them love it.
8: My favorite football player in Utah would be Steve Young because he was the best quarterback for the 49ers well thats my opinion, whats yours ?
9: Football is very popular in Utah.They play other sports to but football is at the top.
10: The Bonneville Cutthrout Trout is Utah's state fish.
11: Utah makes millions of dollars just by people willing to pay to visit Utah's amazing sights.
13: Kings peak(left) is Utah's largest mountain reaching an unbelievable 13,528 feet tall.
15: Utah is also famous for its arches because because people are willing to pay a ton of money to see them.
16: The Great Salt Lake is the main reason their population is 2,763,885. It holds more than 3 quarters of the population.
17: Utah's basketball team is is the Jazz.Where they first came from was New Orleans they officially became Utah Jazz in 1979.
18: Mormon Potatoes is the first food Utah is known for. | Jello is the second thing Utah is known for.
19: The state of Utah is well Known as the home of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
20: Utah is also known for its famous snow.
21: Utah's neighbors are Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Wyoming.
