FC: 2014 | The Natural BY:Bernard Malamud

He was Born april 26 1914 in brooklyn New York and died march 18 1980

As a kid Bernard and his family were uneducated and lower middle class so they didn't get all the things richer kids had back then

 T

When he was young he worked in factories because he had little money and it wasn't that hard.

Bernard Malamud started writing during world war 2 and he was Jewish so thats why some people think he started to write. But during that time people think he wrote 20 to over a hundred short stories. | Bernard

Bernard's first big book is the natural which was written in 1952 then he wrote the assistant in 1957 and his last big book the magic barrel in 1958.

His first big time selling book is the natural and in 1984 they made it into a movie which was a best seller and his popularity rocketed he was one of the most well none author's of his time.

As a writer he had 17 published books and over a hundred short stories .

After he wrote his books he got a job as instructor at Oregon state college his co-workers called him the master because he was so smart and so succesful with writing.

I read the book the natural by Bernard Malamud It's about a guy who when he was young his dad died and he made a bat out of a tree struck by lighting and named it wonderboy.

But when he was on his way to the major leagues he was shot by a woman and thought his career was over but years later he decided to play again. So he went to the big leagues and when he got there they didn't think he was good because he was old. But they gave him a chance and he proved he was good by hitting the ball out of the cover.

later in the book he falls in love with the woman who shot him not knowing who she is and then falls in love with his highschool sweet heart. The last part of the book is his last game because he has to retire or he will die of his bullet wound and in that game he hits a walk off homer run that hits the lights and shuts the power off in the stadium. At the end of the book he plays catch with his son and the mother is highschool sweet heart.

Bernard Malamud will always be none for his book the natural which in my opinion is one of the best baseball books ever and on of the best baseball movies i would recommend this book to you if you like baseball.
