1: A tornado is a violently rotating column of air extending between and in contact with a cloud and the surface of the earth. | Definition | Safety Precautions | Don't drive during tornado conditions. Tornadoes can kill you if you are in a car.

5: Where They Are Formed | In the plains, Pennsylvania, North and South Carolinas.

7: Tornado Damage | The wind speed can be 200mph to 300mph. A weak tornado may break branches. A strong tornado may destroy some buildings. A violent tornado causes incredible damage.
