26: Harriet Tubman was an abolitionist. She helped over 300 lives as a conductor on the underground railroad. John Brown was also an abolitionist as well. He led a raid on the united states armory at Harpers Ferry, Virginia. He was unsuccessful. Nat Turner was an abolitionist. He led a revolt against plantation owners in Virginia. He killed nearly 60 white men, woman and children.

27: The north's economy made there money by working in factories which held machines The south's economy made their money by farming and selling there crops

28: Creation of West Virginia | Virginia separated into two. West Virginia was against slavery and the other half wanted to be a Confederate state.

29: The Union | The north had an amazing president. President Lincoln. They also had Ulysses S. Grant as there General.

30: Confedaracy | The Confederacy had Jefferson Davis as there president and had Robert E. lee as there genarale.

32: Important Battles | Beware, My, Foot, Can, Punt, Red, Apples Bull Run, Monitor and Merrimack, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Petersburg, Richmond, Appomattox Court house

33: The Confederacy surrenders | the Confederacy surrenders at Appomattox court house.

34: Recon after the civil war, land was destroyed, they had no banks and there money was useless in the south.

35: struction free mans bureau provided food and medical care. sharecropping gave farmland and the people split the profit.

36: after the civil war | Jim crow laws were made which made descrimination and segregation.

37: Virginia's economy | people have the money to make cities.

38: civil rights leaders | -Thomas woodrow wilson -george c. marshell -maggie walker -harry f. byrd -arther ashe -dougles wilder -oliver hill -linwood holton

39: 20 & 21 century | rural:life in the counrty urban:life in the city old systems of farming were no longer effective and crop prices were low. people moved from rural to urban areas and from many other states for economic opportuities.
