32: In 1865 Robert E. Lee surrendered to Ulysses S. Grant which resulted an end to the Civil War.
33: Reconstruction | Banks were closed and money was worthless during the reconstruction. Virginia also had no functioning government and its economy was in ruins.Railroads, bridges, plantation, and crops were destroyed.
34: The Freedmans Bureau provided food to poor white people and former slaves. Sharecropping was also used during reconstruction you would make an agreement if you you would let someone rent your farmland, grow crops,and promise to pay back with crops.
35: Segregation is the separation of people. The Jim Crow Laws segregated blacks and whites. Discrimination is like when somebody says your stupid and they dont even know you.

Marshall was a military leader,he created an economic plan to ensure world peace called The Marshall Plan, and he too like Woodrow Wilson won a Nobel Peace Price.
38: Civil Rights Movement | Maggie Walker founded the Saint Luke Penny Savings Bank in 1903 . She was the first African American woman to establish a bank. | Harry F.
