1: After an amazing trip to The Northwest Territories in June 2011 (for work) I decided to document a collection of my photographs so I could share some of the spectacular places I visited and wonderful people I met (and worked with of course) This is my first attempt at "photo-booking" so fingers crossed ........enjoy “The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” – St. Augustine Rose I

14: Kathy B. is a professional "Planker" and "Tree Holder" As for me I was a "Rocker "She who sits and lies on rocks" Wonderful Fun Day Out Lots of Laughs

16: "It is better to be down here wishing you were up there, than up there wishing you were down here".........No kidding! But an amazing experience all the same.

19: Landing was perfect the parking took a little longer | Watching the float planes take off and land was breathtaking Twin Otter landed just above Virginia Falls which is twice the height of Niagara Falls - pilot must have nerves of steel DHC-6-300 Twin Otter aircraft

20: The only way to get to Virginia Falls by float plane Thankfully the pilot decided to join us INSDIE before take off which was a GREAT relief especially the the plane was headed towards the falls

21: A Cessna 185 on floats - can seat up to a maximum of 3 people No in-flight entertainment however sheer terror and nausea are guaranteed to ensure you remember the experience

22: The view from above Virginia Falls - Mason's Rock, named after Bill Mason, the famous Canadian canoeist, author, and filmmaker

26: 2011 | Now this is what I call an airport - no customs, no line ups, plenty of room to kick back and relax only runway

32: Buffalo or Bison? Nicola and I spent the day hunting down these magnificent beasts. Drove for 3 hours almost gave up but we had that "just over the next hill feeling" followed by "5 more minutes and we turn back What can I say we got lucky - A truly amazing day. We found them just past Mosquito Creek

51: Eric - Rose and Kathy | 2011 | Protecting the Jewels of the North The event featured dinner, a creative show of 36 pieces of locally embellished underwear modeled by (supposed) rough and rugged northern men, unfortunately the chip in my camera was full before a performance by the Gumboots (no surprises there)
