1: Judaism Judaism is a religion based on the rules of Moses. It is monotheistic and its holy book is the Torah. Judaism is a very religious religion filled with rituals.
2: Christianity is a religion based on the teachings of Jesus Christ. Christianity is the worlds biggest religion.
3: Christianity is the biggest religion but most of the followers of this religion are not active in the religion.
4: Islam is a religion based on the rules of Muhammad, this is a monotheistic religion.
5: Islam is a very complicated religion which consist of many different types of people.
6: Zionism is a Jewish movement that resulted in the making of Israel.
7: Zionism is peacful, it is the coming back of Jewish people.
8: Jihad is a holy war by Muslims. It is for extremists only.
9: Jihad is very important in the Muslim culture.
10: Arab is usually a person who speaks Arabic, living or has lived in Arabia or some other countries in the Middle East.
11: Arab is someone who usually lives in Arabia.
12: Sunni is one of the two main branches of Islam.
13: Sunni is sometimes described as orthodox.
14: Shiite is someone who supports the Shia branch of Islam.
15: Another name for Shiite is Shias.
16: OPEC is countries that choose to become partners in order to take charge in the export of crude oil for the rest of the world.
17: OPEC is an abbreviation for Organization for Petroleum Exporting Countries.
18: Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, Ramadan lasts about 30 days. Muslims are supposed to fast.
19: My friend Nadia is Muslim. She fasts on Ramadan, after Ramadan is over Nadia eats a lot of food.
20: Yom Kippur is the holiest day of the year for Jews.
21: Yom Kippur is also known as the Day of Atonement.
22: Palestinian is someone who lives in Palestine.
23: Palestine is not a real country. Palestine is made up of parts of Israel.
24: Taliban is a Islamist political group in Afghanistan and now portions of Pakistan.
25: Another Spelling for Taliban is Taleban which means “students” in Persian.
26: Al Qaeda is an Islamist terrorist group founded by Osama bin Laden.
27: Al Qaeda’s main enemy are the US and several non Islamic countries including India.
28: PLO is the Palestine Liberation Organization. PLO started off as a freedom fighter organization to liberate Palestine from Israel. It has become a terrorist organization.
29: PLO has killed a lot of innocent people, some examples are Hijackings of aircrafts and Munich Olympics (kidnapped athletes).
30: Hamas is a terrorist group supported by Iran.
31: Hamas is involved in bombings in Israel and Lebanon. Now recently in release with Israel soldier five years.
32: Intifada an uprising by the Palestinian youth group.
33: Intifada is for a separate state of Palestine.
34: Hijab is a type of head wear worn by many Muslim women.
35: Hijab is a sign of involvement in the Muslim culture.
36: Synagogue is where the Jews pray. It is their place of worship.
37: A Synagogue is considered a holy place.
38: Mosque is the place of worship for Muslims.
39: There is a Mosque located in Fargo.
40: Fundamentalism is the extreme adherence to a set of beliefs with a lack of tolerance to opposing or different view points to the belief.
41: An example of Fundamentalism is a movement in the religion of Christian faith which is against modernism with the belief that the Bible is not just used religiously but in all matters. | FUNDAMENTALISM
42: Terrorism is intimidating people with the use of violence and threats to support political or religious beliefs.
43: Some examples of terrorism are the crashing of aircraft into the Twin towers in New York and the bombing of the Taj Mahal Hotel in Mumbai.
44: Bedouin is a nomadic tribes in the Middle East.
45: Bedouin travel on camels in the desert.
