FC: George Washington’s viewpoint of the current political role of the President of the United States
Since 1789, the Presidents of the United States have led us to what we are now. Since then, many things have changed in the executive branch.
For example, the rules of being president has changed since George Washington's time.
When George Washington was President, he had a four-year term. Twice! Many other presidents did, too. But, one of the presidents did three 4-year terms of Presidency.
The president who did three terms was Franklin D. Roosevelt. The only problem was that the government thought that it would be best if we didn't have the same president three times in a row, so they made an amendment to tell the executive branch that a president can't run for more than two terms.
Our president for this term is struggling to keep his nation happy and hopeful.
But, our president is also failing us. Most of the U.S. respects the president, yet the ones who don't are right not to.
Our president named Barack Obama is on a thin line with some Americans today because he planned to make a system to help with health insurance. It didn't work out well, for the system kept shutting down, it wouldn't let the users in the website, and it couldn't help all those who needed health insurance.
Back in President Washington's time, people never had to worry about these sort of things. They would usually worry about how much food they have, where can they do settlement, and how to fix the government so it would be perfect.
George Washington maintained peace between foreign affairs, fellowship with all Americans, and an organized government system.
Both of these presidents have so many things that has helped us, and President Washington would be very pleased if he saw how well our president is this term.
