56: My Wedding Day started at 5pm on Friday. In the midst of setting up and decorating the tent for the reception, at the stroke of 5pm I was done. All further details, fixing and worries were for someone else to do. My job from that point forward was to "be pretty". Our rehearsal dinner at Flyers Restaurant with our families was fantastic. I chose this location because of it's in house brewery - my family likes beer. That night, no one drank beer. Saturday morning was blissfully easy. No worries, remember? My job was simply to "be pretty". We all enjoyed being pampered with all the attention, fresh fruit and sparking cider. When their hair was finished, the girls Loved how it bounced when they walked and walked in such a way as to make the most of the bounce. The wedding was perfect, including all the things that went wrong. We were all set and ready to go. We gave the OK to start the music. "Where is Gwen's bouquet?" Gwen, Jason and Chris all ran around frantically trying to find it. At one point, she was given my bouquet, but that didn't last long. With no sign of her bouquet anywhere, she asked permission to walk down the isle without flowers.. Permission was quickly given! At the last second, literally, she spied a small vase of flowers, wrapped her hands around it and off she went! Meanwhile, back in the hallway, I waited.. My musical cue had already passed, but it would be a little odd for the Bride to walk down the isle before the Matron of Honor. I spent those long seconds sending e.s.p. thoughts to my husband to be, "I'm coming Baby, I'm coming". Then is was my turn. The moment the doors opened for me and I saw my husband as he looked at me was perfection. It was everything I had hoped for. The ceremony went much faster than we expected and suddenly we were ready for the rings. The rings, safely placed in a pocket, were to be "lost" for a moment, but just for pretend. Then Cord, the Ring Man, discovered the very real hole in his pocket. The rings had dropped into the jacket. I'm sure that the recovery mission happening in his pocket was an eternity to Cord., but it was very entertaining to me. The rings were found, the promise was made and the perfectly sweet kiss was placed. Mr. & Mrs. Kevin L. Krueger.
