Merle & Sharon Eberly | "I'm not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way to reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don't get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I've got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward - to Christ Jesus. I'm off and running and I'm not turning back." Philippians 3:12-14

Florida in February 19th to 28th | Saturday morning Nick, Merle and I flew from Philadelphia to Tampa, then drove to Apollo Beach. This power plant warms the surrounding water making it a central hub for manatees and other wildlife. | A perfect ending to our first day in Florida! | Applebees
Siesta Key Beach The beach was worth the mobs we fought to get our spot. It was a gorgeous and most perfect beach day! We all went swimming (yes, even Merle) but the water was a chilly 64 degrees!
The Beach House | Calamari, please do not remove breading before eating!
Warm breezes, wine... | music, good food, sunset
Warm Mineral Spring | One of the largest natural mineral springs in the world with over 51 different minerals and no oxygen in the water, they found human skulls with brain matter still in tact, saber tooth tigers, tortoises, and preserved camels from millions of years ago! With water this healthy I told Nick it would probably reverse our ages by 10 years putting him right back into diapers! The water is a consistent 87 degrees, smells of sulphur, feels slippery and makes you very buoyant. Shaped like an hour glass the center vortex is 250 feet deep.
Venice | Full of water-ways and canals just like Venice, Italy, we wound our way until we found an outdoor pub where we enjoyed some delicious seafood. After our leisurely lunch, we found a beach where Merle stretched out for a nap and Nick and I went hunting for sharks teeth.
Everglades and Wootons Air Boat Rides | We took a 2 hour ride south to Naples and Alligator Alley where we took a hair raising ride on an airboat and saw lots of gators laying in the canals. We finished with a ride to Chokoloskee and had lunch at a Cuban cafe.
On March3rd I left for India along with Debbie Hollinger, Pam Heisey, and Donna Horning. Our 15 hour flight took us up over the North Pole and down over the globe to Delhi, India. We then flew from Delhi to Chennai and then to the village of Padapai. We spent 10 days working in an orphanage making curtains and decorating a newly built house that would become home to 20 orphans. For more information on this trip visit my full album on India. | I N D I A

A day at sea meant non stop food, fun, and total pampering!
Grand Cayman Island | Famous 7 Mile Beach | Real Estate at a cool 10 Million
We got to pet and swim with the stingrays. They even draped them over our bodies. They are very slippery and soft and also intimidating! Next we boated to a gorgeous coral reef and went snorkeling. The water was rough so we held hands to stay together. Here we saw some of the most breathtaking bright coral and fish that I have ever seen. | We had a wonderful day on Grand Cayman. We took a boat out to a place in the bay called Stingray City.
Back on Board our luxury craft we are getting our party on! | While some did the chicken dance, others sampled Cuban cigars. Still others cozied up to the Black Jack tables or ...if you couldn't find Shelly...check the slots!

The California Gang spent a weekend in Esther Zimmerman's gorgeous beach house in Bethany Beach. | I had my own private bedroom, private bath, and private balcony. A girl could get used to this!

On our 2nd annual Lehigh Valley Gorge trail ride, we encountered a flat right in the beginning of our 25 mile ride. Thankfully we were able to phone to Jim Thorpe and have another bike delivered!
 Hickory Run, Poconos
 Sophie and Peanut
Pigeon Forge, TN in The Great Smoky Mountains for our 27th Wedding Anniversary October 19-23
We enjoyed the gorgeous cabin (Rocky Top Retreat) of Dollywood Vacations, perched high in the Tennessee hills.
We took a 25 mile ride through the Smokies to arrive at Cade's Cove which is a scenic loop through the foothills that takes you back in time to how people lived hundreds of years ago. We saw little white churches and old log cabins nestled against the mountains. It was very interesting and I would go to see it again but not in October! The traffic was so bad it was bumper to bumper through the loop and it took us hours to get through! On the way there we saw a big bear very high up in a tree. He was busy munching on something and couldn't be bothered with us.
On the Way to Cherokee, NC is Clingman Dome. It is the 2nd highest peaks east of the Mississippi with an altitude of 6,643 and you can see 4 states from its peak. At the top was a fresh layer of glistening snow. | Clingman Dome

Christmas morning we enjoyed in our pj's with coffee, cookies, and gifts. Our lunch was ham balls, mashed potatoes and gravy, buttered noodles, corn, and green beans! Yum!
Christmas Day The whole Eberly family was together at Carolyn and Isaac's house for a delicious supper of finger foods provided mostly by Carolyn's children. There were 18 children and babies under the age of 8 which created a lot of noise and activity! It was Charla's first meeting of Merle's sister's family.
