1: Leslie and Jesse go into Terabithia to fight bad spirits.Leslie and Jesse go to church together with his family.Leslie and Jesse like to race each other.
2: Terabithia is a magical place with bad spirits. There are giants ,trolls and fairies.The villages are big and beautiful.
3: Ms. Edmunds and Jesse go to Washington, D.C. and visit the art museum together and go for ice cream after the museum. | The relationship Jesse and Ms.Edmunds have is good. Jesse likes her and thinks that she is beautiful. Ms.Edmunds appreciates his talent for art.
4: Aaron's -Have poor education. -Struggling with money and are poor. -Care about how to dress for special occasions. -Spend little time together as a family. -Always yelling at each other. | Burke's -Have higher education -Have money but choose to live a simple life. -Do not care how they look on any occasion. -Spend quality family time together. -Very considerate of each other.
5: There are two conflicts that are apparent in this story. One, being that Leslie dies while Jess is at the art museum with Ms. Edmunds, instead of him being with Jess while she attempted to go to Tarabithia. The second one is that Jess can not be open with his family of how much he loves art.
6: Jesse came in to contact with the world of imagination and with the larger world outside rural Virginia through Leslie & gave him hope. | Leslie is brave and imaginative and has had a lot of life experiences unlike Jesse and he found courage through her. | Leslie offered Jesse freedom to know that there was more to life than what was right before your eyes.
7: Jesse is excited about returning to school after summer so that he may win the race against 3rd, 4th, & 5th grades. His mother is annoyed that he practiced running too long in the morning & is going to make him milk Miss Bessie after breakfast while his older sisters get to go back to school shopping and he will have to do their chores as well as his. May Belle, his 6 year old sister, tells Jesse that new people will be moving in to the farm next door.
8: Movie Jesse dad ventures to Tarabithia. Jesse and Ms. Edmunds have tea together. The movie is set in a more modern time period, because the teacher talks about exploring the internet and they use cell phones. | Book Jesse dad does not go to Tarabithia. Jesse and Ms. Edmunds do not have tea together. The book takes place in the 70's before internet services and cell phones.
9: The King and Queen of Tarabithia are initially Jesse and Leslie. But after Leslie dies this changes and Jesse is faced with figuring out who would be the best queen for Tarabithia. With Leslie dead and no longer the Queen of Tarabithia, the creativity would be most greatly affected. Leslie had the most magic and imagination to keep the land magical and inspired. | Jesse decides that May Belle would be a good queen for Tarabithia because he felt that Leslie would want her to be queen because she would keep the imagination flowing so he chooses her to be the new Queen of Tarabithia.
