1: The Alps are one of the great mountain range systems of Europe. | The highest mountain in the Alps is Mont Blanc. | The Alps are stretching from Austria and Slovenia in the est, trough Italy, Switzerland, Germany and France

3: The Alps are generally divided into the Western Alps and the Easter Alps. The division is a long the line between Lake Constance and Lake Como, following the rivers Rhine, Liro and Mera. The Western Alps are higher, but the central chain is shorter and curved, they are located in Italy, France and Switzerland. The Eastern Alps belong to Italy , Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Liechtenstein and Slovenia. The highest peak of the Western Alps is Mont Blanck, at 4,810.45 meters, The highest peak of the Eastern Alps is Piz Pernina, at 4,049 meters.

18: Interesting facts about Alps *The alps comprise about 180 mountains, from 1200 meter to 4800 meter high. *The division of Western Alps and Eastern Alps is a long the line from Lake Constance along the Rhine to lake Como. *Mont Blanc is the highest peak in the Western Alps, while Piz Pernina is the highest Peak in the Eastern Alps. *Matternhorn is a popular mountain in Alps. It is shaped like a pyramid and considered tougher to ascent than Mount Blanc because of it's deepness and regular avalanches. *Mont Blanc was first ascended by two natives Jacques Belmat and Dr. Packard on August 8, 1786. They stayed there for half an hour, with the thermometer several degrees below the freezing point. *On the Alps vine grows to the elevation of 6,500 feet and of furze 9,700 feet. Beyond 8,200 feet snow exists perpetually.

Rainbows dance up and down it. *The biggest city in the Alps is Grenoble. The city has about 500,000 inhabitants. The city has the nickname "The capital City of Alps" *Innsbruck in Austria is the second biggest city of the Alpine arch. *The Alps are not impassable barrier and have been traversed for several purposes. *Switzerland is famous the world over for it's Alpine scenery. It offers lot's of opportunities for tourists. *Austrian Alps have the world's largest accessible caves in the world. These enormous caves, adorned with frozen stalagmites, are located in the proximity of Werfen.
