FC: Busy Bees
Do you like honey? Do you know where it comes from? ...
It comes from BEES, of course
But how do WE get the honey from the bees?
 Well, first...
Someone called a "Beekeeper" orders the bees. And they come in the mail... So the Beekeeper has to go pick them up at the Post Office.
Because the bees have been in the mail for such a long time, they are really angry when it is time to pick them up. The Beekeeper sprays them with sugar water to help them calm down.
Another thing that calms the bees down is...
The bees live inside a special wooden box called a HIVE. | The Beekeeper has to wear a special suit so that he or she does not get stung by the bees. | This is what the FRAMES that go in the hive look... before they have any honey on them.
A jar of sugar water goes at the entrance or "front door" of the hive. The Beekeeper puts aluminum foil at the entrance to keep the bees inside safe. They also have a "GUARD BEE" who stands outside the entrance to make sure that nothing bad gets in.
Sugar water is what the bees use for food.
Now the bees are very busy. They fly to flowers and get their pollen. | Then they bring the pollen inside the hive, where it is used to make honey.
One bee is bringing some pollen in and the other one is leaving to get some more.
If the bee makes to much honeycomb, it is called BURR COMB and they cannot use it. The bees make extra honey so that they can eat it during the winter while all of the flowers are dead.
Now the busy bees are making lots of yummy honey!
