FC: Major Battles of the American Revolution | presented by the best selling Dr. Cobi W. Boykin, M.D. and Professor W. C. Lunsford

1: First and foremost, there were the famous battle sites known as Lexington and Concord. At Lexington, some of the first real combat started. The minutemen tried to hold back the redcoats from entering Concord.

3: The Battle of Bunker Hill truly marked the beginning of the war. Despite the colonists lack of ammunition, the redcoats had numerous casualties.

5: Saratoga started a new period in the Revolution. The French recognized America's victory at this site and agreed to form an alliance with the colonists.

7: Although no actual battles were fought here, Valley Forge was the site George and his troops spent one winter. The men gained even more trust for Georgey by suffering that winter with him.

8: One wintry morning Washington and his men sneaked across the Potomac and Captured the Brits. This began the battle of Trenton.

11: The Battle at Yorktown marked the end of the war. Cornwallis surrenders to French and American troops.
