FC: LAFLEUR ADOPTION BOOK | DIRK AND DEANNA LAFLEUR
Dear Birth Parents, We are two happy and blessed people that are surrounded by family and friends. Deanna and I have been married for six years and are unable to have children of our own due to infertility, but we have not given up hope. As you will peak into "the window in our lives", we are asking you to see who we are, where we come from, who our family and friends are and how we live our lives. In the end, if we are the adoptive parents you choose, your baby would be our very first child, be welcomed into our lives and join our loving family. We are a military family who have lived in various places in the US, but we grew up living in the Southern United States and have lived there most of our lives. What is unique about us, but not necessarily about the area is that we are a multi-cultural family. Deanna's family is Panamanian with the majority living in Texas and mine is Cajun French all living in Louisiana. What a mix-right! With these two cultural backgrounds, our families are large, loud, funny, active, love dancing and telling stories around the diner table always surrounded by good food. With a large family we have nieces, nephews, cousins, parents and grandparents all together for most of our holiday and family celebrations. This is truly a blessing for us. This means a lot to us, for we both had grandparents that were very important to us growing up and our child will have that same opportunity. We hope for an opportunity to raise a child of our own some day surrounded with love, compassion and family. A child that will have the opportunity to grow up with an adventurous spirit, filled with fun, education, family and patriotism towards their country. A child that will have the help of their family to one day be able to fulfill their dreams. Again, thank you for taking the time to look into our lives, meet our family, share our life's moments and read our personal thoughts. As we enjoy meeting new people, we are assured you will know us better by the end of the book. -Dirk and Deanna
ALL ABOUT DIRK.... | Dirk would make a wonderful father because he is a very caring, loving, and dependable person. I knew when I first saw Dirk playing with his nieces and nephews that he would make a great father. He is a natural with kids. They gravitate to him because he is such a loving and kind human being. I feel blessed to have him in my life because he has brought so much happiness and laughter to my life. Dirk would make a great Dad because he is such a loving and fun person. He is a hands on husband who helps me around the house and puts my needs before his own. We have been trying to start a family for five years and he has been so supportive through all the ups and downs. Any child would be blessed to have him in his or her life.
ALL ABOUT DEANNA....... | Deanna is the love of my life. She brings joy and laughter into our home and shares that with everyone she meets. Deanna would be a blessing as a Mom because she lives her life with compassion for others, is interested in their lives, and loves children. She is the rock in her family. | Even though she is the youngest of five in her family, Deanna is the one who looks after everyone. Keeping in contact with phone calls and emails, sending thoughtful cards and little reminders of things. Its this naturing and caring side that I truly admire.
HOW WE MET..... Dirk and I met in Enterprise, Alabama September 2004. I attended a financial planning meeting and Dirk was also in attendance. We started dating shortly after and got married in Fayetteville, North Carolina two years later. We met later in life, we were both 34 and had never been married. I am a strong believer in fate and that God led me to him. Our inability to have children has been a tough road but has brought us closer.

"Conceived in my heart I earnestly prayed. But never imagined you'd come so arrayed. Not flesh of my flesh, nor bone of my bone, Not under my heart, but oh, so deep in it sown. I knew from the start since the moment we met, When my eyes gazed upon you, destiny was set, To enter a short journey as mother and child, With joy and sorrows, memories to be compiled, A mosaic of beauty with many colors entwined, The fabric so strong, with my Savior combined, I love you sweet child , and in time you will see,You're much more than chosen, but precious to me, For God planted this yearning in me long ago, To bring Him forth fruit, that together we grow!"
