Gray Whales go deep down in the ocean and stay on the bottom for long periods of times.

The adult Gray Whale weighs 30 to 40 tons. It eats small crustaceans and krill.

A mother gray whale usually has a baby “tail first” in January. The baby is 16 feet long and weighs about one ton.

Hunting and killing whales is called whaling. This almost caused whales to become extinct. Now they are protected.

Today there are over 25,000 Gray Whales living in the Pacific Ocean. They migrate from the Arctic all the way to northern Mexico in the winter.

What I about the gray whale project was working on the Mixbooks. The research took a lot of time and energy. I also liked looking for the pictures but really wanted some that showed gray whales jumping out of the water.
