BC: you are my blessing
FC: Aaron & Brooke's Fifth Anniversary Book May 2009-May 2010
1: This year found the camera, as well as the majority of our time, energy and strength, pointed towards the children. As I looked for photos of us together, I realized that even though our arms were not around each other, our arms were both filled as we carried our load together. Here's to the year we undertook this great task and found time to smile through it all.
2: Sacramento Zoo and Sacramento County Fair | You don't really understand human nature unless you know why a child on a merry-go-round will wave at his parents every time around - and why his parents will always wave back. ~William D. Tammeus
3: May 2009

13: The plum tree brought us so much fruit so I battled it out in the kitchen trying to make some jam (below). I planted the plum tree in January 2003 because plums remind me of my childhood tree forts built in and around the plum trees where our feet and hands became sticky from stepping on them or eating them. Even though it seems that parenting makes you lose yourself I discovered that we still remain as we continue to do the things we love or pout about the things we don't (right). | July

46: March = 1 year of parenting under our belts. It was a thrill to have children to hold while we watched fireworks, went trick-or-treating, opened Christmas presents, colored Easter eggs and navigated the everyday tasks and joys.
47: If I had my child to raise all over again, I'd build self-esteem first, and the house later. I'd finger-paint more, and point the finger less. I would do less correcting and more connecting. I'd take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes. I'd take more hikes and fly more kites. I'd stop playing serious, and seriously play. I would run through more fields and gaze at more stars. I'd do more hugging and less tugging. ~Diane Loomans | The one-year anniversary celebration at Cattlemen's Restaurant.
49: Parenthood is a partnership with God... you are working with the creator of the universe in shaping human character and determining destiny. Ruth Vaughn Dr Anthony P Whitman | I love my partnership with you, Aaron. Thank you, for this journey.
