A night out with mutual friends became the meeting grounds for Chris and I! I remember my first thought seeing him walk in was, "wow, he's cute!" He sat across the table at H.O.B., quiet and observant. Every now and then he would try to say something to me, but the noise level cock-blocked. After dinner, we all stood outside the restaurant, CONVERSING (not conversating). Now, I am not one to bowl due to fingernail breaking that occurs in process, but Chris convinced me, and I actually had fun! (Note: I did indeed break a nail) The night had to come to end; but not without Chris asking for my number! BOO-YAH!...We went on our first date 8 days later!
2 | Our first date was at a pool hall! ...Chris' idea of course, and I went with it. He wanted to interact and CONVERSE (not conversate), so a movie was not an option. We played numerous games, he won a few, I won a lot. I must say, this date took the cake (and the ice cream, for that matter)! Who knew two people who met a week earlier could enjoy each other's company so much...that date lasted four hours and is by far one of my favorite days in all of my 25 years :) It was understood there would be a second date..and there was a week later! | RACK 'EM!
 Sunday, October 9, 2011
Second Date, Third Date, and Beyond... | Our second date was to the carnival! I had not been to anything like this in some time, and when Chris suggested, again, I obliged! We became kids again; playing games, walking through mazes, riding rides...and our first photo was taken at the top of the ferris wheel (seen to the left, to the left). This date was filled with much conversation; we looked up, and 6 hours had passed (felt like 6 minutes)! Our third date was the very next morning for church service, and by that evening we were exclusive :)
This month was 30 days of learning more of one another, deciding on our direction, and adjusting to this new and exciting life event!... ...Christopher celebrated a birthday (he's almost thirty lol)!... ...and that the jist of November!
-Chris and I experienced a Houston Texans game from a private sky box for F-R-E-E (compliments of Chris' coworker)! Great food, great view, great company! -We spent Christmas apart with our separate families. We figured we gotta share each other Lol...plus we planned to be together for New Year's! | Why is he smiling so hard? lol
Our new year's holiday was simple yet enjoyable. With a handful of friends we counted down the new year with some bubbly... I made a seven layer Mexican dip, bacon-wrapped jalapenos, and unfortunately I cannot recall the dessert! | ...5...4...3...2...1..."Happy New Year"
Ever since Chris has started working with Lifetime Fitness, we have been able to use its facilities many times as "date night". The rock wall is his favorite! I have climbed this thing once and was wore out! He's more fit than me, but I do a great job keeping up! | THAT'S CHRIS!
I also chopped off some hair this month, so that's something to note for sure!...Chris warmed up to it; how supportive of him :) Oh!!!!!! and we said "I love you" for the first time!! (awwww) ...we are living life one day at a time but with a plan in mind. We believe we are building a great friendship inside of our relationship! Blessings!...Until next month!
THIS MONTH'S HIGHLIGHTS: *Super Bowl XLVI Party with Chris' dad and fiancé *Massages at LifeSpa to celebrate four months of growing together *DBU vs Rice baseball game series with the family *Monthly visit to get our seafood grub on! **Yes, Valentine's Day was this month as well, but it felt like another Tuesday to us. I was out of town for training, actually.
The past 5 months have been enjoyable for us! I have personally learned that our relationship is about God, Chris, and myself. I believe Chris has learned just how much patience it takes to be with a young lady like myself lol! ~~~~~~~~~ This month we drove to Kemah, Texas for dinner (seafood of course)! We stopped to take a photo before eating and Chris found a "Benji" laying right near our feet...awesomeness! We also began Dave Ramsey's "Financial Peace University"! We strongly believe learning together is an important part of growing together! | Thousands of catfish! | Mean mug the haters! | BLISS! | Say "Cheese"!
 April . . .
. . .makes 6 months! | We started a 1,000 piece puzzle! We are always looking for creative and fun ways to connect. 24: A relationship is pieced together with hope and faith. A relationship is quilted and bound with love and grace. | MAY
We attended Chris' father's wedding on May 6 at Bethel's Place. We truly enjoyed the service and the exchange of vows! Lunch followed at Danny's Front Porch. Everyone says we're next!.....hmmmm ;)
This month I took a job in Austin, Texas that I'd been wanting for a while. After much discussion with Christopher, our plan was to officially relocate... ...but God had other plans! lol... ...within a month, I returned to Houston to begin my new job in the salon, while Chris was presented a job opportunity that would allow for a nice career change... ...next month should be as interesting as this one was...
Wow oh wow-y....we are half way through the year already!! This month the beau and I celebrate 9 months!! ...clearly just the tip of the iceberg in the grand scheme of things, but a milestone nonetheless. We simply enjoy being with one another!! ...whether cooking, swimming, watching The Mentalist, or discussing our future--it's all a blessing! I do believe next month should bring exciting things...stay tuned :)
