Chad's favorite: Being in the wilderness! | A favorite for both: Relaxation and adventure! | Kristin's Favorite: Lounging by a pool! | We were lucky enough to honeymoon in St. Lucia. A beautiful place indeed! We spent a week relaxing and enjoying the sights and each other. It was so nice to finally be together...no more long distance! | HONEYMOON

Good Times | Kristin's family loves tennis. Chad wasn't prepared for 4 hour long matches though! | Chad's family got us into card and board games. Some favorites are Dominos, Tick, and Rummikub. | The Twins are one sports team we can seem to agree on.

Chad attended UW-Platteville for two years before joining the Army Reserve. In 2003, he was called to duty overseas where he spent a year fighting for our country. He was honorably discharged in 2009 after eight years of dedicated service. | All About Chad! | Amongst many other things, Chad loves to camp (the hardcore type), hunt (deer and turkey), build things, bike, garden (we have a small one we add to each year), and play softball.

Chad is going to make an AMAZING father someday. He has so much patience, understanding...and most of all, love. I can't wait to see him in action! He will definitely put his heart and soul into being the best dad he can possibly be. ~Kristin | Chad, for some crazy reason, seems to enjoy running and has participated in a marathon relay for the past 2 years. | After returning home from Iraq, Chad finished his schooling at Minnesota State-Mankato and earned a degree in Automotive Engineering. Right after graduating he accepted a position as a manufacturing engineer and worked with that company for over five years. He recently accepted a new manufacturing engineering position in December at a well-established company and really enjoys it. | A new toy for the farm! This ATV will work great for hunting and "touring" ....Kristin might even go along for the ride!

Kristin enjoys doing things with friends (dinner, walks, shopping, etc.), watching friends' little ones, playing tennis, cooking, gardening, and scrapbooking when she finds the time. This scrapbook being her latest project! She has also become very active in our church by organizing and teaching activities for members' children. | All About Kristin! | Our 'niece' LuLu and Kristin...not the biggest dog person, but how can you resist this puppy face!?!

Kristin attended UW-Eau Claire where she graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. She has been teaching for over seven years and is currently employed as a 4-6 grade special education teacher. She really enjoys being a teacher, but plans on being a stay-at-home mom so she can be an active part of our child(ren)’s academic and social lives. | I cannot say enough how lucky I am to have Kristin as my wife. She is a very friendly and approachable person, always willing to offer a helping hand, kind words, or a simple smile to brighten one's day. She is passionate about her beliefs and true to herself and her family. I can't think of a more gentle or loving person ready to take on all the joys, and challenges, of motherhood. ~Chad

Chad's Family | Chad's parents live in southeastern MN on the family farm. Chad's dad, Gary, is an over the road truck driver and his mom, Judy, works at a veterinarian office. Carrie, Chad's younger sister, works as a nurse at Mayo. | Chad has two loving and devoted parents along with a younger sister whom we see regularly. We particularly enjoy being outdoors and just spending time with one another. | Chad had a big surprise party for the 8 years he honorably served in the Army Reserves. It was quite the event with lots of family and friends who loved and supported him during this part of his life. | What a perfect day! Finally graduating, both sides of the family present to watch, and our wedding quickly approaching!

Chad's family is very anxious for a grandchild and nephew/niece. They are very supportive and excited for an addition to our family. We are blessed to have their love and support. | Chad learned the value of hard work from years on his family’s farm. He still enjoys time that he can get out and enjoy the outdoors with family and friends. | Chad's parents live in southeastern MN on the family farm. Chad's dad loves to make things with his hands, so I'm sure there will be a few toys laying around to play with. Chad's mom is anxious to spoil her grandbaby with her talents...baby blankets, baked goodies and cakes, and handmade Halloween costumes. | Carrie, Chad's sister, will be one of those aunts where whether it's shopping or roughhousing, she's there!

Kristin's Family | Chad and Brian's goal was to eat pizza each day we were in NY! Goal Met! | Kristin's loving and supportive parents and younger brother and his wife are an important part of our life and we often spend time with them doing various activities, such as, playing tennis, biking, and traveling on occasion. | Enjoying an afternoon at the farmers' market in Madison; gotta love a whoopie pie and some cheese bread!

We are so lucky to have their love and support. And as you can guess, everyone is excited for the news of a new member to our family. I'm sure he/she will be very spoiled! =) | Always up for a new adventure, the whole family went out at midnight on Black Friday. Even managed to drag the boys along! | Kristin's family lives in a suburb by Madison. Her dad loves sports and will be our child's biggest cheerleader in any sport or activity. Kristin's mom has been there for us both emotionally and physically through our baby waiting days...there may be a move in the future for them as she won't be able to stay away! | Kristin's brother and sister-in-law and their dog LuLu don't live far. They're always up for an adventure and you won't find them sitting still for long. There'll be some crazy sleepovers going on in a few years for our little one.

Our Home | We bought this house with the intention of beginning our family here! It's a bi-level house with 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and an open floor format. A large park is being developed behind us. It's in a great school district as well. | Our First House! | The large park behind our house where we'll go for walks and play together!

Traveling | What a fantastic trip with some great friends. However, our trips always end dramatically! Chad managed to break his leg ziplining and almost needed to have surgery in Mexico! Bad idea! | Our first family trip! We walked The Strip, hiked Red Rock Canyon, attended some shows, tried our luck at the slots, and enjoyed our time together. So lucky to have this time with family! | Las Vegas | Playa del Carmen

We took this cruise with two of our best friends on kind of a whim. We had such a good time; lots of memories and laughs. A couple favorites were the scooter ride, and of course, the massive amount of food available at all times! | Our latest family trip was full of adventure! We managed to get face time on the Dave Letterman show, jump from a moving bus, wait out a hurricane, and road trip home within 24 hours since there were limited flights out of NYC. Such memories! | New York | A Cruise

Thoughts | Our Journey to Adoption We started off 2009 with so many hopes and dreams. It was the year we were going to begin our family...only God didn't have that same plan. In two years we experienced six miscarriages. We've seen a number of doctors and undergone numerous fertility treatments. It's been a difficult couple of years but we believe God has a plan for us! We've always known that we wanted children. It is not important to us whether our baby is biological or not, as long as we have our family. We know we will love any child that God places in our care with all of our hearts! It makes the difficult journey worthwhile knowing that without it, we might never have been able to have such an incredible opportunity to be parents to your baby. God has an amazing way of turning our "plans" into something extraordinary...something we never pictured or could have ever imagined for ourselves.

Our Dream for Our Children We want our children to have a relationship with God first and foremost. It's so important that we as parents teach our kids about God and the amazing things He has done and continues to do for us each and every day. Along with this we want to teach them morals, what it means to be a good person, and to dream big. Education is very important to us and we plan on making sure that our children attend good schools. Although we hope that college is the path our children take, we will encourage and support them with any endeavor they choose. And lastly, we want to raise our children like we were raised... with lots and lots of love and support! We know the importance of spending quality time with our children and being positive role models. In this day and age it is not easy to be a child, or a parent, and we plan to be "involved parents" who are an active part of our children's lives.

We hope you will consider us as potential parents for your child. We realize that this cannot possibly be an easy choice for you, but we have such respect for your decision to pursue adoption. Please know too that we are open to having you as part of our lives in a way that works for everyone...letters, phone calls, visits, etc. We think it is important that a child knows he or she is adopted from the beginning and that both their birth family and adoptive family have a lot of love for him or her. We hope that this book gives a clearer picture of who we are. No matter what your decision...we wish you love and happiness. Love, Chad and Kristin | Closing
