Journal 1 | Question: Are you like of dislike any of the characters? Please Explain how. Do any of the characters remind you of your family or friends? Explain how. | Answer: If i had to choose if i was like anyone is this book i would have to pick Luke. I'm like Luke because he is the one that is like forgotten. we are alike because when i do something good nobody pays attention. When Luke wants someone to pay attention to him nobody will give him what he wants. When he wanted to go somewhere else in the house he couldn't go anywhere but the attic. In my family i feel like I'm the forgotten child and I think that is how Luke feels. His mom said"Dad thinks, I mean it's not safe for you to be in the kitchen" (Haddix pg. 20) Yes, there is another character that reminds me of
someone and it is Jen. Jen reminds me of my friends Lexie. They remind me of each other because they both are persistence. They make you understand what you don't want to. Lexie tells me the truth no matter what it is and Jen was telling Luke how bad the population are not!
Journal 2 | Question #2: Choice D | Answer #2: Through out this book I have made a lot of connections. These connections are to my life i think that it is important that you make connections through out the book because if you don't then do not remember what you have read. One of the connections that I made is that when Jen will do what she wants till she gets what she wants. I am a lot like that also. I also think that when Luke got caught by Jens dad I would have given in to. "To late, Luke though to wonder if the man knew about the rally" (Haddix pg. 127)
Question 3: Choice B | Answer 3: I did like the ending of the book. I liked it for many different reasons. One of the reasons is that when Luke meet Jens dad he didn't kill Luke because he is a third child also. Yes there is more to tell because it didn't say what happened to Luke. In the next book I think that we will find out what Luke will do next. I also hope that it will tell us what he does with his new life"Lee Grant turned around to see what lay ahead" (Haddix pg 153) | Journal 3
I chose this passage because I could relate to it a lot. I also chose it because it is the saddest passage in the book.
