Bobby McVee had a problem, you see, And it started around the time he was three.
He wanted to talk, but his voice was so small That his brothers just paid no attention at all.
So the idea began one day in his head To make sounds like the animals do instead. To him the idea was not so absurd, He just wanted a way to make sure he was heard.
From then on Bobby would not say a word. He'd bark or meow or "hee-haw" to be heard.
For a while Bobby got what he wanted. If he needed attention he sat down and grunted.
Then one morning he gobbled, but nobody came. His family had tired of his little game. They simply ignored all his noises and sounds, And acted as if he weren't even around.
Now he was angry and knew that he should Just march right in and yell as loud as he could-- "I'M BOBBY McVEE, PAY ATTENTION TO ME! What I have to say is important too. You listen to me and I'll listen to you!"
From then on Bobby was never ignored. But once in a while he forgot and still roared.
