2: What were the going out clothing in the 1930s? | The girls would wear a dresses or a long skirt. Men would wear a suit or a nice pair of pants and a nice top that would match an over coat and a nice top hat. On Sunday's they would wear some of their old well kept suits and ties and top hats.The women would wear and nice but old dresses. | E.D

4: What did the ladies wear to work? | When the stock market crashed ladies fashions returned to a softer and more romantic look, which was a departure from the bold, edgy lines of flapper styles. The flapper styles had seen a trend toward shapeless dresses with low dropped waists and around the hips. Skinny, boyish figures that were all the rage in the gave over to a sexy, curvy look that was ushered in with the 30s. Daytime dresses were more fitted in the 30s with the waistline back at the waist and even belted to appear narrow. Evening dresses had daring low cut necklines and backs. | E.K did both pages

6: Everyone was given a clothing book with colored coupons in it. Every item of clothing was given a value in coupons. | How did they buy their clothing? | E.D

7: How many clothing coupons could each person have? | Each person was given 60 coupons to last them a year. Later it was reduced to 48 coupons. Children were allocated an extra 10 clothing coupons above the standard ration to allow for growing out of clothes during a year. | E.D

8: What did they wear to work? | Boys wore short pants, older boys wore knickers. Boys were commonly seen in overalls. They would wear their old suits on Sundays. Standard head wear for boys was a flat cap. | E.K did both pages

12: How did clothing change from the 1930s to today? | The fashion of the 1930's was very different then the fashion of today. Hats for both men and women were popular for both day and evening wear. Dresses were often cut of the bias to allow a smother drape of the fabric. Women wore long halter topped dresses, lace frocks, negligees, and corsets. Men wore suits with a matching top hat and over coats. | E.K
