Our journey through the pregnancy of little baby Alexis. Our beautiful, sweet perfect little girl. We will always cherish our first 9 months together. Lovingly, Mommy & Daddy
It was a hot day in august when I realized I might be pregnant. Everyone had been teasing me about it, saying we were next. Dillen's sister was already well on her way to having her little bundle of joy. We had brought Taylor to school and were going to get my new birth control. I always got a test done just in case but this time...I was pregnant, and my life was changed forever! I walked out to the waiting room and told Dillen the good news. I was crying because I have no idea how I was going to tell my parents. I thought my mother was going to kill me. They were over joyed, and Dillen's parents were proud also! I was overwhelmed.
Watching you grow for 9 months... We thought it would be fun to take a photo each month to document the growth of the baby. It was so fun to see how much my belly grew month to month. It's such a miracle to see the changes that our bodies go through while a little life is growing inside.
Oh the joy of being pregnant and the funny things I crave... First pickles which I usually love, but was eating so many of them then came the midnight mac and cheese and salad and vinegar cravings. Dillen has been such a sport running out to get me whatever I need. This has got to be the best part of being pregnant; I get to eat so much Food! Food! Food!
That day is a day I will never forget. We had our first appointment to see an ultrasound. It was to determine how far along I was, because we didn't know due to the fact that we didn't find out till we were about 11 weeks that they guessed from my so called last period, so this was to really determine. This wasn't the one where we got to find out the sex of you but it was amazing to see you that day. You seemed so big and come to find out we were three months or so along. Due date was set to be February 15th, my dads birthday.
We were so excited to tell everyone we were having a girl!
The day we found out that we were having a girl we had to travel all the way to Portland. It was my mom and I, Dillen and his parents were meeting us there. We waited forever and I was supposed to have a full bladder. Dillen and his parents had broke down on the way there and I was so scared that they weren't going to make it to see us. But they showed up just in time and there was no way i could hold it any longer after that excitement. Then we finally got called to go in and found out you were a girl!
Right after finding out you were a girl my mom had posted it to facebook. She was so excited she had to tell the world. Well I wanted the name picked that day. I had been going crazy months before and had some already narrowed down for girls. It was already set if the baby was a boy it would be Dillen Jr. So when we knew it was a girl we picked a name/ Her name will be Alexis Marie Campbell! Alexis: Defender Grace: One of the sea or bitter
I had been dreaming of the perfect nursery for my little girl for months. We dont have a place of our own to give her her own room. She sleeps with us but i did the best that i could with what i had. We went with a pink a brown theme for the most part. I cant wait to have our own place so i can really do a room for her.
The first time I felt you kick was both amazing and weird at the same time. I realized that I actually have a real human being growing inside of me. You had grown so much that your little legs and feet were strong enough to kick! WOW! I will never forget that first kick for the rest of my life.
My mother was so sweet to throw a baby shower for little Alexis. The theme was Ducks. The food, favors and decor were lovely. My mom made an amazing cake from scratch. I had so much fun visiting with all of my favorite people who have been there for me throughout the whole pregnancy. We have everything we need now thanks to all of the generous gifts we received. Cute clothes, diapers, and many, many clothes and other things. We're ready to welcome her home.
It was so fun to watch everyone play the fun baby games
We have been on this journey together for 8 months now and I can't believe I get to meet you in one month! It has been such an easy pregnancy with the exception of a couple months of crazy heartburn, but it is well worth it.
I have so many plans for us. Trips to the zoo, play dates with your friends, tea parties, birthday parties, shopping for pretty dresses, baking your favorite cookies, exploring life's wonders and watching you grow into a beautiful young lady. I can't wait to show you my world and I hope that one day I will get see the birth of your child someday.
Little Alexis was scheduled to meet us on February 10th 2012. I had to go in at 5 in the am to get prepped for surgery, Alexis was breech so they had to do a c section. I was whisked away to the surgery room at 7:30ish and given my pain medicine, then Dillen joined me and it began. I was in there for about an hour or so. Give or take and then finally baby Lexi was born at 8:28 am. It was amazing and a very emotional experience for all of us. Dillen and I cried!
Alexis was born 2.10.12 at 8:28am She weighs 8lbs 7oz and is 20 1/8 inches long. We are so blessed to have been given this tiny little baby and are so grateful for this precious gift. We will cherish every moment we have with her.
