FC: ENGLISH NARRATIVE PROJECT BY: JT VANGELDER
1: STANDING UP PROUD
3: Jason was an ordinary 20 year old guy that has a job as a skydiving instructor. He has a girlfriend named Julie and they have been together for 8 years. His co-workers have told him that he should go into the Marines or Army for skydiving because they thought he could be really good at it. But he didn't really want to.
4: One day he was on his way home from work. He walked inside and asked his girlfriend if she had got the mail today. She said that she had not gotten it. So Jason walked out to the mailbox and pulled out an envelope. The envelope was addressed to "Jason Hamilton", and was from the Marine Corps. He took the envelope and went inside to show Julie.
5: He handed her the letter and she read it smiling and knew that he would be excited about this. | FAITH | Jason really didn't know what to do. He had to make a serious decision and had to make it fast. He could either continue doing his everyday routine or, if he wanted to do something with his life go into the Military.
6: Jason accepted the invitation and was sent to training the next week. He will have to have a lot of hard work and dedication to accomplish his goal of becoming a Marine. He will have to be stronger than the people around him so that he can become the best person in his platoon.
7: For his hard work and determination, he was selected as the head of his platoon in basic training.
8: It has been 3 weeks and Jason is almost done with his basic training. Although he is the head of his platoon,he can't stop working hard. He must continue to work hard and strive to be the best he can be. His life and the lives of other Marines depend on how hard he works.
10: Now that Jason has completed basic training he is being sent on his first mission.
11: Jason's mission is to deliver supplies to the Marines on the ground behind enemy lines. He has to jump out of a C-130 with the supplies and deliver them to the Marine Sargent.
12: Jason successfully made it to the camp site and delivered the supplies to the Marines. He then realized how much work he had put in to accomplish his mission and felt good knowing that he had saved the lives of many Marines because he simply jumped out of that air plane.
