1: this story is set in Salem, Massachusetts, 1692. In this peaceful Village, something bad is about to happen.
2: Best Buds | On a quiet night, there were some girls dancing and practicing witchcraft in the woods. Reverend Parris heard noises and saw the girls practicing witchcraft with Tituba. The girls ran away when they saw Parris.
3: On the next day, Betty was pretending to be asleep. Everyone was scared. They Thought she had been touched by the devil.
4: Abigail came into Betty's room and asked herd to wake up. She asked her to stop playing. Betty did not want to wake up because she did not want to get in trouble.
5: Betty started screaming for her mom. People at church heard Betty screaming and went out and saw her in the window. The people were surprised that this was happening.
6: John Proctors heard people mumbling about witchcraft and he also heard about Betty's sickness and how she tried to fly out the window. He went to the town to find out more about this incident.
7: John asked Abigail about the rumors of witchcraft. Abigail told John how these rumors had been spread out. She said that it all started after Parris, her uncle, saw them dancing in the woods naked. she explained to John that nothing had to do with witchcraft.
8: Parris believed that Betty's sickness had to do with witchcraft so he called for Reverend hale, an expert on witchcraft, to find out if they were any witches in the village.
9: Hale came to the village and met with Parris to discuss Betty's sickness. Hale looked in his books to find out more about Betty's sickness. Hale concluded that Betty had been bewitched.
10: The next day, Hale came to Parris house to see what he could do to wake up Betty. This is where it all begins, Abigail is asked to tell the truth about what happened in the woods. Abigail confessed that they were dancing in the woods and accused TItuba of witchcraft.
11: Tituba said that she is not a witch and to save herself she started naming people who she apparently saw with the devil. Abigail followed and started naming people she had seen with the devil, all of a sudden Betty wakes up and started naming people.
