FC: "The princess and the pea" reflection

Once upon a time there was a young and handsome prince named Chip. Chip lived with his mother, the queen, and his father, the king. Chips father was gone most of the time, so he often felt lonely. Until one day, Chips mother exclaimed, “Chip, all you do is sit in your room all day and play those dumb video games!” “When are you going to get up and find a beautiful princess to marry?” “I really want grand kids, you know!” She really got on his nerves. So, Chip decided to finally get his annoying mother off of his back. The next day, he set out on a journey to find the perfect princess.

Chip drove through the driest deserts and the rainiest rainforest's just to find a good wife. When he finally got in to town, he saw no one that really caught his eye. All of the women looked the same. He was looking for a woman with the greatest beauty, one that was different and lovely, but yet gentle enough to be a real princess. He winded up going halfway across the country! Still, he found no one that could make him happy. So, he was forced to go back home to listen to his mother preach some more.

Chip was almost home, but then, he seen the most beautiful girl walking up the street. He stopped his car and asked her if she needed a ride. She thanked him nicely and got in. He was so astounded by her beauty that he could hardly keep his eyes on the road! They talked and talked for at least an hour while he drove around. He even forgot where he was taking her. He didn’t care, neither did she. Then, as the day came to an end, Chip finally asked her where she lived. It turned out that she had run away from her home a few hours ago. She had no where to stay for the night. He told her that she could stay with him (considering the fact that when he got home, his mother would start yelling).

When they returned home, his mother was so excited that she ran in there as fast as she could, and gave her son the biggest hug ever! Then, she saw the girl. She looked at Chip in disgust and said, “This is the so called ‘princess’ that you bring home to marry?” “She isn't even a real princess, just look at her outfit!” The girl did look a little ragged. It was because she wanted to get away from her abusive father, who was the king of the next town over. She couldn't take any good clothes because she was scared that her little brother would see her get them

So she just took what she could. “Ok”, Chips mom said, “I will give her a test to see if she really is a princess.” Chip knew nothing about his mothers real plan. He just thought that she was going to put a pea under twenty mattresses like all the other mothers do.

Chip showed the girl to her room and his mother made her bed with the twenty most comfortable mattresses in the whole world. The girl was really tired so she decided to go to bed early, so Chip and his mother did too. Later that night, Chips mother came in to the sleeping princess’s room with a knife. She planned to cut her arm off. No prince would love a girl with one arm. But as soon as she stepped through the door, the princess jumped to her feet and started screaming when she saw the knife.

Chip rushed into the room as quick as he could. His mother dropped the knife and looked at her son and the girl. Then, she said, “I wasn't going to kill her, I promise. “ This was.. the test that I was doing to find out if she was a real princess.” “If she was to wake up when I came through the door, then I would know that she is a real princess” “How is that?” said Chip. “If her ears are that sensitive, she must be a real princess!”,his mother exclaimed.” “Welcome to the family, dear!”

And everyone lived happily ever after..for now
