BC: the end.
FC: Sloth's in Sydney | By: Hannah Weir
Simon the sloth is rather sleepy. Simon lives in St.Marys and he seems to enjoy his naps time there. He sleeps as the sun crosses the sky.
But even in his sleepy daze, he journeyed all the way from St. Marys to Sydney.
Simon wanted the sun, the sand and a special spot to sleep. Simon savours every second he sleeps in Sydney. The sun warms his fur as he drifts into a slumber in a big old eucalyptus tree.
Simon still has not found that special spot where he can sleep soundly, with the sun on his back. From coast to coast, sea to sea, Simon searched for that perfect perch where he could sleep soundly.
But just as he thought he found a nice spot he looked up and found another face looking down at him. He thought he found a solid tree, but a cranky koala didn't want to share.
Simon saw a forest that was nice and sunny, but a kookaburra sang all through the day. Now that wouldn't do for a sound sleep.
He found a nice warm cave with soft furry walls, but it was already home to Joey, the baby kangaroo.
With no place to sleep Simon continues to slowly search for a place to stay.
Simon makes his way to the Sydney harbour to try his luck on a boat, but there is already a pelican calling it home. So Simon tries some place new.
Sloths are good at climbing, but the slippery siding slows down the progress. It takes the sun to move from either end of the sky to make it to the top.
But in the end it was worth it.
Simon now has a home of his own, and a place where he can sleep under the sky, the sun and the stars.
Simon now loves his home on the Sydney Opera House, where he can sleep as long as he wants.
