He watches and waits looking for any signs of trouble because he is the forest protector.
Across the green filled forest, across the turquoise lake he hears,"this place seems perfect, lots and lots of wood to chop down." barked the voice of a human.
"Skree! Skree! Skree!" The Eagle alarms the forest."Tell the trees," whispers the eagle to the wind,"go spread word to the Terrifying Tigers, and the Prideful Porcupines, and the Humble Hummingbirds." "Go tell the Slithering Snakes and the Open Eyed Owls."
"Roar, we shall come." roared the terrifying tigers.
"Snort, we shall come." snorted the prideful porcupines.
"Flutter, we shall come." said the humble hummingbirds.
"Ssss, we shall come." said the slithering snakes.
"Hoot, we shall come." hooted the open-eyed owls.
"Skree, they are coming with their axes and machines." screeched the Eagle. "Hurry Forest Protector Army, hurry."
"Roar, snort, flutter, ssss, hoot, leave humans. Do not destroy our forest, it is our home." "We have lived here for centuries, we need our home for safety, food, and our daily activities. Do not destroy our home." they said all together.
Then the trees shook and spoke, "We give the animals food, protection, and warmth. Do not chop us down." the tree shook again and fell back asleep.
"Skree, Leave now and do not disrupt our society again." "Skree."
"I am the legendary eagle, mighty and brave, protector of the forest. I live on the mountain top. The forest protectors and I saved the forest by standing up to the mighty and powerful humans."
