FC: The Panda and the Koala | By Jillian Motiuk
“Hey you!” groaned Mica the panda “What do you want Mica?” replied his sister Camille. “You know what Missy! I want the usual Bamboo with hot sauce.” “Just because you're my older panda, doesn't mean you can boss me around!” shouted Camille. “Whoa, I knew you were sensitive and all, but I never knew that you could get so angry..I LOVE IT!” “Mica, your missing the point here, please don’t boss me around,” She said sweetly.
Mica and Camille were two VERY different panda’s. Although they were brother and sister, they weren't very fond of each other. Mica HATED other animals. Camille LOVED other animals. She especially liked Koala’s. In fact, Her best friend was a Koala.
Don't think: Look! -Ludwig Wittgenstein | “Camille? Are you home?” asked Jasmine the Koala. “Oh,hey Jasmine! Come in!” Camille yelled at the front door. “Hey, I was wondering if you had any spare bamboo for my science project at school.” “Forget it Jasmine, that bamboo is mine. Beat it before I beat you!” Yelled Mica. Jasmine then started to cry. She felt like she didn't belong with the panda‘s. Camille then wrapped her arms around Jasmine to make her feel better.
"NO! I don’t like you, or any panda for that matter! I think panda’s are rude and mean! I‘m leaving!” Said Jasmine with a angry tone. What could Camille do that would make Jasmine like her again. Camille knew that Jasmine was upset and didn't want to upset her anymore. “I’ll come too, I’ll skip dinner so that you can have my bamboo,” Camille said in a friendly tone. “No! Didn't you hear me? I don’t like panda’s! Just like panda’s don’t like Koala’s.”
Jasmine then stormed off. Camille was so mad at Mica she ran to her room and started to cry. She thought about all the good times her and Jasmine had, and how they were all over. Just then, a shooting star jumped across the sky. Camille wished that Mica would understand how Jasmine felt. The next morning, Mica woke up in a different house. He walked back to the Panda village and looked for his house. When he got there he yelled, “Camille! Open this door Right now!” “Okay, okay, I’m coming. WHOA! Mica? Is that you?” “What the bamboo are you talking about? Of course its me!” “Did you look in the mirror this morning?” “No, why?”
Camille held up a hand mirror in front of Mica’s face and smiled with complete pleasure.. He was a Koala. “Oh my bamboo. I’M SO UGLY!!” He shrieked. “Eww, What is this thing doing here?” Asked Jasmine. IT sounded like Jasmine, It DEFIANETLY smelled like Jasmine, But.. SHE WAS A PANDA! “I told you to stop hanging around with animals like this!” Said Jasmine. “Anyways I’m starving, do we have any bamboo?” Asked Mica. “Forget it Mica, that bamboo is mine. Beat it before I beat you!” Yelled Jasmine.
Mica felt so hurt. He realized how much impact it had on his heart. No body wants to feel like they don’t belong. Including Mica. That night, as the wind whispered through the night sky, Camille looked out her window. As soon as she was about to leave, there was a shooting star. Camille wished that Mica was a Panda again, and that Jasmine was a Koala again. She also wished that she was 5 bamboo sticks richer. The next morning everything was back to normal, but Camille was not any richer than she was the night before.
The moral of the story to most people will be to always do on to others as they do on to you. Which basically means to treat people ( or Koala ) how you want to be treated. The moral of the story to others, will be this : If you are ever so lucky to wish upon a star, don't wish for bamboo, because it doesn't work.
