14: Mt. San Jacinto, Palm Springs, California | The day started with an aerial tram ride 1 mile up the mountain. Then we hiked 5.5 miles to the peak, sometimes losing the trail because of the snow. But we made it (and back too)!

We trekked for 7 days on the Machame route, also known as the Whiskey route because of its intoxicating views. | Standing on Uhuru Peak, "the roof of Africa" | Glaciers on top of Kili | Mt. Kilimanjaro, Tanzania

38: Old Stone Town, Zanzibar | Touring the spice plantations | David explored Zanzibar and a traditional Maasai village while Cherry climbed Kili. | Zanzibar is part of an archipelago known as The Spice Islands. Cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, and pepper are some of the main spices grown there.

42: Arusha, Tanzania This meal cost less than $2, orange soda included. It has been an amazing year with new and edifying experiences. We hope to never stop exploring. :)
